Just imagine your future with us… Our Buildings team continues to grow, and we’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver complex hospital and healthcare facility projects across WA.

At Aurecon, your expertise helps create safe, resilient, and patient-centred environments. You’ll collaborate with clients, health planners, clinicians, architects, and other disciplines to design systems that support clinical outcomes, staff wellbeing, and the evolving needs of modern healthcare.

Here’s how you’ll bring ideas to life:

• Technical leadership: Lead the mechanical design, documentation, and technical delivery for major hospital, healthcare, and clinical facility projects.
• Safe, resilient environments: Design reliable HVAC, ventilation, and medical support systems that prioritise patient comfort, and staff safety.
• Innovation & performance: Apply sustainable design principles and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, flexibility, and whole-of-life performance of healthcare buildings.
• Collaboration: Partner with electrical, structural, building services, and specialist healthcare consultants to deliver integrated, compliant solutions.
• Client & stakeholder connection: Build trusted relationships with clients, health operators, and user groups, providing clear technical guidance and responsive service throughout planning, design, and delivery.
• Digital engineering: Embrace digital tools and BIM workflows to coordinate complex services, streamline design, and reduce risk during construction.

What you’ll bring:

• 8+ years’ experience in mechanical design for hospitals, healthcare facilities, or other complex clinical environments within the buildings sector.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, ventilation, air-quality control, and specialised systems (such as isolation rooms, operating theatres, and critical care areas).
• Proven ability to deliver complex projects in line with Australian Standards, NCC, and relevant healthcare design guidelines.
• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to mentoring and supporting others.
