MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Part-time Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Glen Burnie, MD This is a hybrid, part-time position requiring 1–20 hours per week, with on-site presence as needed based on customer and team requirement.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Set up, operate and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment critical for contract delivery
Assist with management of upcoming relocation of office, warehouse and R&D laboratory
Perform a wide range of mechanical engineering tasks, including design, procurement and maintenance of various mechanical systems
Assist with execution of prototype tests in R&D laboratory
Assist with installation of mechanical system prototypes on ships and land-based mock-ups.
Travel up to 25% to Navy Sealift Command locations
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Naval Architecture
8+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
4+ years of experience with filtration systems
Experience reading and generating technical drawings
Experience generating high-quality design and analysis reports
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the US DoD, including active duty, government civilian, or support contractor.
Ability to generate complete, high-quality 2D drawing packages.
Clearance Requirements:
US Citizenship required and possess a current or active Top Secret Clearance.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Must be able to assist with prototype testing and installation, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and handling of materials and operation of manual and power tools.
Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
