Fluor Plant Engineering office is part of the Energy Solutions Sustaining Capital Projects Business Line.



We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the regional team (Spain) in Home Office location at Tarragona.This position supports on assigned projects through the following Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review mechanical engineering deliverables such as specifications, datasheets, calculations, and drawings in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Support the development of piping and equipment layouts, ensuring compliance with safety, operability, and maintainability requirements.
  • Perform technical evaluations of vendor proposals and assist in procurement activities for mechanical equipment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (process, civil, electrical, instrumentation) to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and start-up phases, including resolution of field engineering queries.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOP sessions as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the regional engineering team.

Basic Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical design within industrial projects (oil & gas, chemical, energy, or similar sectors).
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software.
  • Strong understanding of international codes and standards (ASME, API, EN).
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Availability for punctual business travel.
