Solar Turbines is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the development and the maintenance of the Gas Turbines Package dedicated to the Power Generation market (power range: 4 to 35 MW). The candidate will be responsible for the structural design, the 3D modelling, the technical drawings and documentation of the Gas Turbine Package Mechanical Systems such as Enclosure, Filter Structure and package Base Frame. This role coordinates with mechanical systems manufacturers and evaluate proposed solutions. The Gas Turbine package mechanical engineer will work in close collaboration with the auxiliary systems engineers and will interface with project engineers, sales support department and customer service.

The role implies approximately 10% travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Mechanical design of the Gas Turbine Package mechanical systems;
  • Develop 3D models of the Gas Turbine package mechanical systems;
  • Coordinate, check and approve 2D drawings of the mechanical systems;
  • Perform and validate Structural Analysis of the structural components;
  • Coordinate and support the mechanical systems manufacturers.
  • Support Sales Department;
  • Support Project Execution Department;
  • Prepare technical documentation related to Mechanical Systems;

Requirements:

  • Mechanical engineering or equivalent bachelor’s or master’s Degree;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the field of Mechanical design and 3D Modelling for industrial applications;
  • Proven experience of mechanical components manufacturing processes;
  • Proven experience in Structural Analysis (FEM);
  • Experience working with PLM software;
  • Experience evaluating suppliers’ quality;
  • Good understanding of Gas Turbine Package auxiliary systems such as gas fuel system, lube oil system, ventilation system and air filtration system;
  • Attention to detail concerning component specifications;
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Fluent English – Czech, Italian, German and/or French of benefit;
  • Good communication skills and capability to work in a team;
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving capability;
  • Target oriented and strong sense of responsibility.

Base Minimum Pay:

Kč1,112,580.00

Please note that salary is only one component of the total compensation and benefit package available at Caterpillar.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position.
