Job Description

This position provides mechanical engineering design for Woman Health and X-ray modality components and subsystems. The position works to identify and execute strategic design and quality engineering efforts. This role requires interaction with other service and design engineering teams to ensure the product quality goals set forth by the business.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Executing design visualization efforts with 3D CAD models and essential component and assembly details to explore multiple design options
  • Developing innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability
  • Developing engineering design concepts for components and assemblies that have tough requirements for size, precision, reliability, and cost
  • Leading quality engineering projects that provide imaginative solutions to engineering and customer issues
  • Influencing cross-functional teams to implement quality actions
  • Delivering improvements to customer focused metrics
  • Validating product sub-system reliability performance

Required Qualifications

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  • Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible

Desired Characteristics

  • BS or above (MS preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (defined as 5 years relative engineering experience)
  • Experience of robotics design, automation control, auto-drive is a plus
  • 3+ years working experience in mechanical product design
  • Good communication in English (written and oral)
  • Experience of working in global team and familiar with manufacturing process
