Senior Mechanical Engineer - Nuclear

As part of a growing account, Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are looking to increase the size of their Derby site team to respond to an increase in workload and are recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

🔧 Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to emerging problems

🛡️ Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability, and safety

✏️ Alter and modify design to meet requirements customer requirements

💷 Estimate budget and scope of project

⚠️ Management of Risk and Opportunity

📄 Prepare product reports and documentation

📚 Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods

Qualifications

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

🏭 Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the nuclear sector

🛠️Understanding of mechanical design, safety case, operation, (precision, cleanliness requirements, damage prevention) and LfE capture

📜 Previous experience with Technical Document Authoring, Substantiation and Presenting

📝 Understanding of Nuclear Health & Safety I.e Understanding of safety case requirements (Safety Functional Requirements, Engineering Schedules and criticality prevention)

🏭 Previous exposure to Chemical Plant, Glovebox’s and associated processes would be an advantage along with an understanding of Welding, NDT techniques

🗄️ Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)

📊 Knowledge of engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar)

🎓BEng or similar professional qualification in an engineering related field
