Senior Mechanical Engineer

We’re hiring to meet the strong growth and increasing demand across New Zealand’s industrial and manufacturing sectors, ensuring we have the mechanical engineering capability to deliver high‑impact, multi‑discipline projects for our clients.

You’ll be responsible for engineering and managing multi-disciplinary projects for our key and platinum customers – from managing concept design, costing, detailed mechanical design development, construction management, and commissioning.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Projects: Take charge of small to medium-sized projects, ensuring successful delivery to meet client expectations and business objectives.
  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise in an industrial environment including detailed mechanical and piping design, development of technical specifications and drawing management
  • Being part of a team that delivers multi-discipline projects – and developing the confidence to lead and own future projects.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering their growth and enabling the team to deliver exceptional results for our clients
  • Stepping into a client-facing role and growing into a project manager or commissioning manager
  • Travel to client and project sites across NZ, building hands-on experience with industrial mechanical plant.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (Washington Accord).
  • Proven experience in a similar role with 7+ years’ experience
  • Excellent project management and communication skills, experience co-ordinating multi-discipline projects with a broad knowledge of other engineering disciples
  • Technical knowledge with hygienic and pressure piping system design, surge analysis, pipe stress and hydraulic analysis.
  • Familiarity with PECPR requirements, AS/NZS 1170, ASME B31 suite of codes or equivalent standards.
  • Exposure to (or a willingness to learn) piping industry software such as AutoPIPE, PIPE-FLO, or similar.
  • Willingness to travel to site.
