Purpose

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical Design ensures that mechanical designs are fully industrialized, manufacturable, and aligned with project execution, supply chain strategies, and business objectives. The role acts as a key interface between Engineering, Supply Chain, Package Management, manufacturers, and Proposal teams, contributing both to project delivery and competitive tendering activities.

In parallel, the position includes to deal with Seal Project Package, acting as the technical and industrial reference for all sealing and low‑friction items across projects

Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Industrialization

  • Ensure mechanical designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, inspection, testing, cost, and schedule.
  • Review and challenge design choices (materials, tolerances, machining, welding, coatings, assembly sequences) to reduce risk and improve industrial robustness.
  • Define manufacturing assumptions, critical industrial parameters, and manufacturing philosophies from early project phases.

Support to Supply Chain & Package Management

  • Provide manufacturing and industrial input to support sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and make‑or‑buy decisions.
  • Support Supply Chain Package Managers during tendering, bid evaluations, technical clarifications, and supplier negotiations.
  • Identify manufacturing risks and propose mitigation plans aligned with project targets.

Manufacturer Follow‑up

  • Act as main interface with manufacturers to ensure compliance with technical requirements, quality standards, and schedules.
  • Review and validate manufacturing documentation (manufacturing drawings, procedures, ITPs).
  • Manage technical issues, deviations, concessions, and support inspections and FATs when required.

Support to Proposal & Tendering Activities

  • Contribute to proposals by defining realistic manufacturing strategies, industrial assumptions, cost drivers, and risk assessments.
  • Support value engineering and innovation initiatives to improve competitiveness.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer acts as the main actor and technical owner of the Seal Project,


In this role, the engineer:

  • Leads and coordinates the seal package end‑to‑end (technical definition, supplier coordination, risk management, and industrial follow‑up).
  • Ensures consistency, robustness, and standardization of seals and low‑friction solutions across projects.
  • Acts as the central interface between Engineering, Projects, Supply Chain, and seal manufacturers.
  • Capitalizes lessons learned, drives continuous improvement, and supports both execution and proposal phases with proven, qualified solutions.

Education

  • Engineer Diploma in relevant discipline

Experience

  • 5 to 10 years in Oil & Gas Industry
  • Strong mechanical design and manufacturing background.
  • Proven experience with suppliers and external manufacturers.
  • Solid interface skills across engineering, supply chain, and projects.
  • Structured, pragmatic, solution‑oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
