UGL’s Fuels and Energy East business is seeking a Senior Mechanical / Piping Designer to support brownfield and asset maintenance projects across fuel terminals and petrochemical facilities.

Working within our PEM&AM contract, you’ll collaborate with engineers and designers to deliver high-quality piping design and P&ID development, ensuring safe, efficient and fit-for-purpose outcomes.

This is a casual opportunity (2–3 days per week initially) with flexibility and potential to expand based on project demand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver mechanical and piping design using AutoCAD & CADWorx (2D/3D)
  • Drafting P&IDs (critical focus area) using CADWorx P&ID
  • Produce GA drawings, isometrics and material take-offs (MTOs)
  • Build and coordinate 3D models, including clash detection
  • Support brownfield projects including tie-ins, site checks and as-built updates
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to meet project deliverables

About You

  • 8–10+ years’ design & drafting experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or similar
  • Strong expertise in piping design and P&IDs (equally important)
  • Proficient in CADWorx and AutoCAD
  • Experience in brownfield environments and site-based verification
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and work across multiple projects
