The Primetals-Blytheville Facility provides maintenance and reconditioning of beam, bloom and billet, conventional and thin slab casters. Engineering services, in-plant laser measurement services, in-plant millwright services, mechanical machining of large and small components, fabrication and welding services, in-house nickel and chrome plating are offered. Our expertise and technological advancements in the manufacture and repair of continuous casting mold, segment, roll and related components allow us to provide customers exceptional value in workmanship and quality assurance with every job.

Our Blytheville, AR facility is currently seeking to fill a 3rd Shift Senior Mechanic position.

Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen.

Classification and base pay rate will be dependent upon skillset and prior experience.

Duties of the mechanic will be performed in-house and on location at customer site.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Current, valid driver license,
• Ability to read and interpret measuring instruments,
• Preferred candidates will possess a minimum of four years’ industrial/mechanical maintenance experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements and adjusts functional parts of equipment by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Controls downtime through use of effective routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Conserve’s maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to accomplish job results.
• Increased knowledge required to calculate the rigging load based on center of gravity, lifting points and any special rigging required.
• Assigned to lead specific projects with very little supervision.
• Provides technical leadership and assists in training less experienced mechanics.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

TOOLS USED: hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools, indicators, gages, micrometers

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Work is performed at ground level and above.

Frequent: Walking, standing, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying of twenty (20) lbs or less.

Occasional:Climbing, kneeling, crouching, lifting and carrying of fifty (50) – thirty (30) lbs.
