Job Description

We are excited to announce our opening for a Material Planner on the Global Supply Chain team in Springfield, VA! The role of the Material Planner (MP) is to manage, track and report all program material activities, managing the material requirements to lead time schedule, resolving supply chain issues for the program, communicate progress and supplier performance to program leadership and maintaining material forecast based on project schedules. The MP reports to the Material Operations & Strategy Associate Director and is directly aligned to the Program Manager and represents Material Operations & Strategy on the program and support the embedded Material Project Manager where needed.

The successful candidate will serve as an integral member of the Program Management Team. This Material planner role will have direct contact with internal Customers, Program management, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Accounting, Contracts, and others. In this role, the successful candidate will work closely with Program Management and Program Finance personnel to accomplish the following tasks.

Primary Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):

  • Ensures a streamlined procurement process of materials against program requirements.
  • Generates material requirements and provides the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish.
  • Works across multiple government and Leidos systems in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintains reports and monitors material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.
  • Coordinates forecasts, workload, expediting, and acquisition priority with commodity/category team leadership.
  • Analyzes material requirements for leveraging opportunities, supplier recommendations, acquisition planning
  • Engages supply chain (supplier to manufacturing) to determine optimal acquisition strategy.
  • Manages production and delivery schedules.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4-8 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma/GED with 8-10 years of relevant work experience. Candidates with experience in procurement AND/OR a combination of certifications, training, education, or military experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

• Microsoft Office knowledge and skills

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work across multiple systems simultaneously

• Attention to detail

• Good organization and communication skills

• Strong Excel experience (Create workbooks, create formulas, applying formats, sort, and filter data, etc…)

Preferred Qualifications

- ServiceNow experience

- Deltek Costpoint experience

- Buying or supply chain management experience

-PowerBI experience

Pay Range:

Pay Range $65,650.00 - $118,675.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
