The Durr Group is one of the world's leading mechanical and plant engineering firms. Products, systems and services offered by Durr enable highly efficient manufacturing processes in different industries. Business with automobile manufacturers and their suppliers accounts for approximately 60% of Durr's sales. Other market segments include, for example, the mechanical engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical industries and the woodworking industry. The Durr Group operates in the market with five divisions:

  • Paint and Final Assembly Systems: paint shops as well as final assembly, testing and filling technology for the automotive industry, assembly and test systems for medical devices
  • Application Technology: robot technologies for the automated application of paint, sealants and adhesives
  • Clean Technology Systems: air pollution control, coating systems for battery electrodes and noise abatement systems
  • Measuring and Process Systems: balancing equipment and diagnostic technology
  • Woodworking Machinery and Systems: machinery and equipment for the woodworking industry

We are a growing organization, and we are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to join our Shared Services division. Together, with the momentum of our business vision, we can achieve international success and added innovation in all of the themes which Durr influences at a global level.

Location: Southfield, MI

The Senior Marketing Manager will oversee the Marketing department in North America which focuses mainly on the promotional aspect of marketing. Prior experience in B2B marketing and managing a team across multiple locations and divisions is essential.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the marketing team of 5 in North America across three divisions and multiple locations
  • Discuss strategy with division sales leaders and develop marketing plan and budget accordingly
  • Manage promotional and product marketing activities according to approved budget
  • Oversee the creation of marketing materials and content
  • Coordinate marketing activities with German headquarters
  • Develop strategies to increase brand awareness
  • Coordinate internal and external communication
  • Organize customer events and support with sponsoring and speaking engagements
  • Prepare presentations and represent marketing team and ideas to management
  • Handle press and media requests
  • Provide employer branding marketing support to Human Resources
  • Organize cross selling meetings and award submissions
  • Organize photo/video shootings at customer sites
  • Maintain consistent corporate image throughout all North American locations, product lines, promotional materials and events adhering to global corporate design standards
  • Keep up to date with ever changing market environment and new product developments
  • Conduct performance reviews of staff
  • Perform all other relevant tasks essential for increasing the business's sales
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications
  • Five or more years of position related experience
  • Exposure to / familiarity with Durr products and markets preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, CRM / Salesforce
  • Prior experience leading and managing cross divisional and multi-functional teams with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative spirit that thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Able to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Exemplary honesty, integrity and conscientiousness
  • Extremely organized with very good time management
  • Good writing skills
  • Think out of the box and be able to develop new concepts and devise unique marketing campaigns
  • Committed to meeting deadlines with a high-quality product sense of urgency, a strong work ethic, sound judgement, flexibility, and creativity
  • Ability to engage with all stakeholders, internally and externally; to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and successfully manage diverse teams through effective, empathetic verbal and written communications

Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
