A Day in the Life

The Sr. Marketing & Events Specialist plays a key role in delivering engaging customer experiences that elevate the Medtronic brand and drive marketing impact across the Acute Care & Monitoring operating unit. This role partners closely with global and U.S. marketing teams to plan, promote, execute, and measure major conventions and our annual Global Marketing Summit — high-visibility events that showcase our portfolio and support key commercial priorities.
In this role, you will collaborate across a matrixed organization to translate marketing strategies into compelling event experiences. Responsibilities include developing event briefs to guide planning, partnering with creative teams to produce effective onsite and digital promotions that generate leads, and working with the Medical Education team to deliver programs that educate clinicians on our technologies. You will manage events end-to-end, balancing innovative thinking with disciplined budget management while ensuring flawless execution through strong project management, agility, and attention to detail.
With exposure across a broad range of products and marketing initiatives, this role offers an opportunity for a marketer with event management experience to grow their career into broader integrated marketing responsibilities. Success in this role requires strong event management skills, along with experience with the creative development process and omnichannel marketing.
Reporting to the Sr. Group Manager, Brand Development & Events, this role is part of the Global Integrated Marketing team, which includes creative, events, integrated marketing, and digital and social media specialists who partner across franchise teams to bring commercial strategies to life.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Plans and implements product exhibits at conventions, exhibits, sales conferences, and/or symposia.
  • Arranges for specific events at national conventions and may also participate in international conventions.
  • Works with vendors to arrange space, literature, hotels, equipment rental, and set-up and dismantling of the exhibit.
  • Plans and coordinates the routing of exhibits shipped for the convention program.
  • Develops plans, budgets, and generates reports providing information on cost-per-contact, audience profiles, and representatives' comments.
  • Works with marketing and sales departments on show selection decisions.
  • Leads sponsorship and/or partnership strategies, including concepting, evaluation, creation and activation efforts.
  • Oversees the creation of all types of content to achieve Medtronic's reputational and messaging aims.
  • Utilizes omni-channel marketing models incorporating paid, owned, earned and shared content strategies.
  • Leverages insights to strengthen programs and build new strategies.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience with Workfront or similar creative project management system
  • Experience with Veeva or similar regulated approval system
  • Experience marketing to healthcare professionals
  • Ability to rapidly adapt to changes in priorities and persevere through ambiguity
  • Ability to partner with and influence stakeholders across the matrix
  • Strong communication, project management, and attention to detail
  • Proactive with a bias for action.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$78,400.00 - $117,600.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance,Health Savings Account,Healthcare Flexible Spending Account,Life insurance, Long-term disability leave,Dependent daycare spending account,Tuition assistance/reimbursement, andSimple Steps (global well-being program).
