
The Senior Marketing Director is accountable for driving sustainable growth and expansion of General Industrial sales, profitability, and product portfolio across the EMEAI region. The role provides strategic marketing leadership, ensuring strong alignment between regional execution and global GI and segment strategies, while accelerating value creation, portfolio optimization, and commercial effectiveness.
Strategic Leadership & Operating Planning
Develop and execute the long‑term strategic marketing plan for General Industrial in EMEAI, in close alignment with the Global Marketing organization and Segment Leadership.
Own and lead the GI EMEAI five‑year strategic planning and annual Operating Planning process.
Translate global strategy into clear regional priorities, ensuring disciplined execution and measurable business impact.
Financial Performance & Portfolio Management
Deliver established financial objectives, with a strong focus on margin improvement through strategic pricing management, cost‑saving initiatives, and portfolio optimization.
Lead product management initiatives aimed at reducing complexity across Powder and Liquid portfolios while maximizing profitability and market relevance.
Develop and implement value proposition plans for key technologies and strategic segments, partnering with Global Segment Leadership to advance focused market propositions.
New Product & Innovation Enablement
Identify and prioritize new product opportunities that address evolving market needs, executing through the Stage‑Gate development process.
Support new product development, launch readiness, and specification development in close collaboration with Sales, Technical, and R&D teams.
Ensure regional market insights are effectively translated into innovation and portfolio decisions
Lead the Stage-Gate process for GI EMEAI, ensuring an efficient and effective process, clear roles and responsibilities, and timely project execution.
Commercial Enablement & Go‑to‑Market Execution
Support the GI Sales organization through development of sales tools, strategic pricing guidance, and collaborative selling approaches.
Lead a team of segment managers responsible for executing the marketing plan across the region, while ensuring high-impact activation support for the sales team, driving new business execution to exceed budget targets.
Lead the regional Marketing Communications strategy to enable effective sales execution through high‑impact tools, collateral, campaigns, and events.
Drive integrated media planning and digital marketing strategies for EMEAI, fully aligned with global direction.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Foster strong, cooperative relationships with Technical, Sales, Segment Leadership, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure end‑to‑end alignment.
Actively remove internal barriers that limit speed, effectiveness, or execution against priorities.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning
Monitor competitive activity and market dynamics, providing timely intelligence, insights, and positioning guidance to support commercial decision‑making.
Track, analyze, and report industry‑based performance, trends, and marketing activities.
Marketing Excellence & External Engagement
Champion a culture of Marketing Excellence across the GI business unit, driving best‑practice adoption and continuous improvement.
Actively represent the business within relevant industry associations and external forums, reinforcing Sherwin‑Williams’ market presence and thought leadership.
1. FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
Chemical Engineering or Chemistry Degree or other relevant technical degrees
Preferred:
MBA
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
5-10 years marketing experience with proven success in developing and executing on business strategies
Proven Marketing and Sales experience and demonstrated success in world-class industrial/B2B.
Demonstrated success in leading a culturally diversified organization.
Technical acumen to learn materials technology to further drive value by differentiated material performance in the various applications.
Excellent team-building skills, organizational abilities, critical thinking skills, and people management and communication skills
Advanced PC skills/Microsoft Office applications and other applicable applications.
