Job Description

HarperCollins Publishers is seeking a Senior Marketing Associate to contribute to our day-to-day content creation and growth of HarperCollins’ primary corporate social media channels. Under limited supervision, this role will create daily content planning and execution across platforms, with a strong emphasis on short-form video creation and platform-native content. The ideal candidate is both creative and execution-focused, with strong instincts for platform trends, short-form video storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration with publishing, marketing, and communications teams.

Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision develops and executes innovative social media marketing plans for HarperCollins corporate social accounts (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Pinterest, YouTube).
  • Coordinates TikTok Shop campaigns: manages product links, tracks results, and works directly with internal and external partners to drive conversions.
  • Analyzes performance on key social analytics tools to identify trends. Presents plans to leadership to turn insights into recommendations and new content strategies.
  • Works directly with authors and publishing stakeholders to develop and plan campaigns and share deliverables.
  • Contributes to content production: creates original short-form videos, adapts brand and author assets for social use, and collaborates with the creative team on social-first design.
  • Coordinates marketing efforts with internal departments: works with publisher and brand teams to align messaging, calendars, and creative.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in social media or digital marketing (brand or agency)
  • Comfortable navigating analytics tools (Sprout Social, Meta Insights, TikTok analytics, Google Analytics, Excel)
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • Strong public speaking skills to present to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience creating simple, short-form video
  • A high degree of curiosity, agility, and initiative
  • Bachelor’s in Marketing or related field

Knowledge:

  • Comfortable with core social media marketing metrics
  • Active and engaged with social media platforms
  • Understanding of affiliate marketing and content creation

Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative problem solver, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to create basic social graphics, create and edit Reel and TikTok videos, and write engaging social copy
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the digital landscape, current marketing trends, social media and advertising best practices
  • MS Office Suite required; Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design programs are a bonus, plus a keen eye for design

The salary for this position is $65,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
