Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

Customer & Internal Interface: Serve as the primary external interface to Internet customer technical teams, including system architects, R&D, quality assurance, and network construction teams, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders. Internally, coordinate with system architects, R&D, testing, sales, service, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution.

  1. Requirement Discovery & Guidance: Engage deeply with technical teams at Tencent, ByteDance, and other Internet customers to thoroughly understand their self-developed network devices, automated O&M platforms, and cloud management system architectures. Collect, analyze, and guide customer requirements to drive deep integration and customization of optical transport systems with customers' proprietary technology roadmaps.
  2. OLS Networking Expertise: Possess strong familiarity with Internet customers' Open Optical Network (OLS) networking and deployment solutions.
  3. End-to-End Customization Delivery: Coordinate with Solution Architects (SA), R&D, product lines, and supply chain to drive customer customization requirements through the full lifecycle—from sample implementation, lab validation, gray-scale testing, to mass-production delivery. Actively participate in technical exchanges, project follow-ups, and change management communications.
  4. Technical Evangelism & Trust Building: Proactively organize and align internal resources to conduct technical presentations, solution briefings, and executive-level technical dialogues with customer network architects, infrastructure teams, and technical decision-makers. Establish a trusted "technology partner" relationship rather than a traditional vendor dynamic.
  5. Joint Innovation: Organize and participate in Joint Innovation programs with customers, delivering co-branded technical white papers, patents, and industry benchmark cases.
  6. Bid & Tender Support: Lead the technical bidding activities for open optical and customization projects, including compilation and integration of technical proposals, as well as on-site bid support.
  7. Market & Competitive Intelligence: Continuously track market dynamics, technology trends, and competitor landscape in the open optical and DCI space.

Qualification & Requirements

Bachelor's degree or above in Telecommunications, Optical Electronics, Computer Science, or related fields.

  1. Minimum 5 years of pre-sales or solutions experience in the optical communications industry, with at least 2 years in Open Optical Networks, disaggregated WDM, or data center networking.
  2. Deep understanding of Open Optical Network architecture, with familiarity with OLS, Open ROADM, Disaggregated Transponder, OpenConfig/YANG, NETCONF/RESTCONF, and related standards.
  3. Strong grasp of Internet customers' technology culture and procurement models, with a clear understanding of their core demands for "disaggregation, white-box, automation, and programmability."
  4. Solid theoretical foundation in optical transmission, including coherent optics (400G/800G ZR/ZR+), OSNR budgeting, CDC-Flex ROADM, and Open Line System design.
  5. Demonstrated ability to effectively interface and communicate with customer technical teams.
  6. Excellent solution architecture and presentation skills, capable of engaging efficiently with Internet customer engineering teams in "engineer-to-engineer" language.
  7. Strong cross-functional drive and execution capability, able to build efficient communication bridges between R&D, product lines, supply chain, and customers.
  8. Resilient under pressure, adaptable to the fast-paced, high-iteration work culture of Internet customers, and willing to travel frequently for on-site support.
