Primary responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
- As a major contact of Manufacturing Technology for Improvement and Manufacturing process of all ACST sites while accountable to the ACST Manufacturing Technology Leader.
- Oversee introduction of new products coming out of the scale up (model shop) stage gate process and investigate and resolve technical problems related to product scale up.
- Continuous Improvement & Technology Implementation
- Applies knowledge of engineering statistics, and design of experiment concepts to methodically plan, design and develop new process procedures and implement improvements to existing processes. (Apply Six Sigma or Kaizen methodologies)
- Enable sound process and product development decisions to continuously improve processes and yield conclusive results and sustained.
- Executes process characterization and investigations to establish process limits.
- Performs experiments required to achieve high quality data. Analyze and communicate results to the senior management team.
- Participate in phases of material/ product/process development, including discovery, laboratory tests, characterization, scale-up, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Works with external vendors to specify, develop, and commission new process technologies.
- Manufacturing Support
- Supports plant in yield & capacity improvement.
- Supports the implementation of Run & Maintain projects, develops, and manages project plan and ensures on time and on budget delivery.
- Supports Taoyuan ACST plant operation and troubleshooting.
- Supports contract manufacturing qualification & Issue resolution.
- Supports the roles of project manager or manufacturing representative if needed.
- Develop process technology roadmap and annual capital project plan and budget. Define technical specifications to develop new processing methods and equipment and improve product performance aligned with the global operation sites as Most Effective Technologies which meet safety standard, product efficiency and internal/external customer requirements.
- Drive PSM programs and systems to ensure compliance with corporate, business, and regulatory standards.
- Owns and implements DuPont PSM elements, including, Process Technology Package, PHA, Technology MOC, PSM investigations, etc.
- Champion process safety activities and function as a resource for relevant process safety concerns such as SIF, LOPA, Safety System Impairment, Reactive Chemicals, and supporting fully implementation to DuPont PSM.
- Coach junior engineers and provides experience on failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations and troubleshooting.
- Develop business opportunity statements/ justifications and drive stage gate process.
- Own and lead process MET development of ACST related technologies, variation reduction, and wastewater treatment rationalization.
- The individual shall have a sound knowledge of assigned technologies and the ability to apply engineering principles and advanced analytical/modeling tools to detailed problem analysis in recommending innovative and cost-effective solutions to sites or projects.
Requirements of education and skill sets
- BS and above in the major of Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Candidates have work authorization in Taiwan and willing to travel in reasonable frequency per biz requirements.
- High level of safety awareness and understand the requirement of Sustainability and Corporate core values.
- Demonstrate positive influential behaviors through active plant engagement and excellent use of management systems.
- Self-initiative - identify improvement opportunities and form projects to closure.
- Strong communicator in English and enjoys collaborating with colleagues include other organizations and sister sites for the global business in the international corporate.
- Be initiative and critical/logical thinking to identify problems/process deviations from a variety of perspectives to assess the best solutions.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills; must work well in both self-managed and team environment.
- 5 – 10 years’ experience in industrial chemical processing operations.
- Able to work independently with minimum guidance to contribute and execute business, functional or product strategies.
- Familiarity with JMP or related software, design of experiment, and statistical analysis.
