Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to drive end-to-end quality performance at our contract manufacturing partners. This role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand design and manufacturing requirements, lead quality engineering activities, and develop quality programs that enable the team to build and ship high-quality products.

This is a high-impact role requiring strong ownership across factory quality, supplier quality, process control, and issue resolution. The individual will serve as a key quality interface between the contract manufacturer and internal cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive end-to-end manufacturing quality activities at contract manufacturing sites
  • Work closely with internal teams and external manufacturing partners to ensure product and process quality requirements are clearly defined and effectively implemented
  • Develop, execute, and maintain process quality control plans across key manufacturing stages including SMT, IQC, IPQC, Assembly, FATP, OBA, and OQC
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions for production and quality issues, with focus on improving yield and reducing variation
  • Monitor process quality performance and drive continuous improvement using appropriate quality engineering methods and tools
  • Support supplier quality management and strengthen vendor quality control processes
  • Conduct process and quality audits at manufacturing partners as needed
  • Partner with factory leadership and engineering teams to ensure timely issue resolution and strong execution
  • Manage multiple quality projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on factory experience in manufacturing quality, preferably in high-volume electronics manufacturing, with proven ability to work independently, drive issue closure, and manage quality execution at CM sites
  • Strong SMT process experience
  • Hands-on experience in process quality control and manufacturing quality systems
  • Strong knowledge of quality engineering tools and methodologies such as SPC, AQL sampling, Cpk, GRR, 8D, 5 Whys, DOE, PFMEA, and continuous quality improvement
  • Experience driving root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and yield improvement in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong supplier management, vendor quality control, and project management skills
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills
  • Chinese speaking preferred
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and practical experience working in or supporting an IATF 16949-certified environment
  • Familiarity with VDA 6.3 process audit methodology and ability to apply it in manufacturing or supplier quality audits
