Your Impact
As a Senior Manufacturing Manager (Level L) in North Charleston, South Carolina, you will lead frontline manufacturing leaders and teams responsible for delivering the 787 Dreamliner—one of the most technologically advanced aircraft ever built. This is a variable shift position.
You will translate strategic production goals into disciplined execution on the factory floor—while building a culture grounded in safety, quality, accountability, and pride.
We are currently hiring for positions within 787 Composite Fabrication and Aft Body Assembly as well as 787 Mid Body Assembly.
You will:
Lead, manage and inspire manufacturing teams responsible for building the world’s most advanced commercial aircraft
Drive operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
Build and develop exceptional leaders, strengthening Boeing’s leadership pipeline for the future
Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Leadership to achieve production milestones
Champion continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, and operational innovation
Help position Boeing South Carolina for increased production rates and long-term growth

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of aerospace, manufacturing, or equivalent military experience
3+ years of experience managing teams
3+ years of experience leading, motivating and developing others
Demonstrated ability to lead across organizations and influence outcomes
Decision-making capability in complex, dynamic environments
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience, ideally in Assembly, Structures, Interiors, or Compositive Fabrication
5+ years of proven success leading Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Experience leading through production ramp-ups, operational transformation, or growth environments
Track record of building high-engagement, high-performance teams
Bachelor's degree or higher
A&P Certification

This position is for a variable shift (shift 4). Variable shift means you will be assigned a shift at time of hire based on business needs. You will remain on your assigned work shift until a re-evaluation is required. Shifts assigned for training may differ from your permanent work shift. However, the current expectation is hiring for 2nd shift positions.
