Job Description

About the Company

Noble Gas Systems is an innovative manufacturing company specializing in the design, development, and production of comfortable high-pressure compressed gas storage and delivery systems. Our technology supports applications across energy, transportation, and advanced industrial markets.

As we continue to scale, we are focused on strengthening our infrastructure, improving operational execution, and building a team that can support long-term growth.

About the Role

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead the development and execution of the manufacturing scale-up strategy, ensuring the successful expansion of production operations within our newly established facility.

This role will be responsible for defining equipment and process requirements, partnering with suppliers to design and source critical manufacturing and testing equipment, implementing in-process monitoring systems to track key production parameters, and establishing the foundation for a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to enable real-time data collection, process visibility, and advanced analytics.

As production volumes increase, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will also play a key leadership role in building and managing a high-performing team of manufacturing engineers and technicians to support continued growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities include:

Manufacturing Scale-Up & Process Development

  • Lead production scale-up initiatives, optimizing facility layout, process flow, and workstation design.
  • Define and implement scalable manufacturing processes that integrate automation and manual assembly.
  • Select, specify, and deploy manufacturing equipment to support capacity growth.
  • Partner with R&D, Applications Engineering, and Production teams to ensure manufacturability and product quality.

Equipment, Automation & Data Systems

  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop, procure, install, and validate manufacturing equipment.
  • Drive automation strategies across key production processes to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
  • Implement in-process monitoring systems and establish MES capabilities for real-time data collection and analytics.
  • Monitor and improve equipment performance through OEE metrics and process controls.

Operational Excellence & Leadership

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and resolve process issues.
  • Lead root cause investigations, corrective actions, and production team training efforts.
  • Serve as a technical leader, building and developing a manufacturing engineering team as operations scale.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, and Applications Engineering to ensure production readiness and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Proven manufacturing engineering experience in composites, high-pressure vessels, or related industries.
  • Experience scaling manufacturing operations, including process optimization, equipment implementation, and facility design.
  • Knowledge of automation, process controls, quality systems, and manufacturing data collection.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and familiarity with applicable industry standards (ISO, ASME, DOT).
  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with composite manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of MES, ERP integration, and manufacturing analytics systems.
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
  • Experience building and leading engineering teams in a growth-oriented manufacturing environment.
