This role is responsible for enhancing and streamlining manufacturing work instructions to improve clarity, usability, and execution on the production floor. The engineer will collaborate closely with production and manufacturing teams to understand existing processes and translate them into clear, efficient documentation for operators.

Core Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, update, and simplify a large volume of existing work instruction documents to improve effectiveness and usability.
  • Partner with Production and Manufacturing teams to gain a deep understanding of current workflows, methods, and operational practices.
  • Apply knowledge of engine systems, technical manuals, and manufacturing processes to ensure accuracy and practicality of documentation.
  • Develop detailed process plans and operator-level work instructions to support consistent execution by production personnel.
  • Assess current equipment, tooling, and material usage to ensure alignment with process requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve product or process-related issues as needed.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to production and cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze process performance data to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or industrial engineering environments (required).
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, 3D models, and GD&T specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience converting complex engineering requirements (e.g., drawings, manuals) into clear, operator-friendly work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of composite manufacturing processes, particularly resin transfer molding (RTM), is highly desirable.

Additional Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 6S).
  • Exposure to automation and robotic manufacturing systems (preferred).
  • Experience with process control and quality tools such as SPC, DOE, FMEA, PPAP, control plans, and root cause analysis.
  • Competency in CAD software is a plus

Salary Range: $75,000-$110,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
