Join the Zero Emission Buses Project, a transformational program transitioning NSW's bus fleet from diesel and compressed natural gas to zero emissions technology. This project represents a step change towards net zero emissions for public transport, supporting the NSW Government's sustainability commitments while eliminating direct tailpipe and indirect energy emissions.
Lead Work Health & Safety team for the ZEB Tranche 1 project, encompassing procurement of over 1,200 battery electric buses, depot infrastructure conversions, construction of a new depot, power grid upgrades, and renewable energy procurement for bus charging. Much of these work will be undertaken by contractors, who’s work you will oversee to ensure safety assurance.

About you
You're an inspiring leader passionate about safety-first culture, with proven bus safety experience and comprehensive knowledge of WH&S legislation and Codes of Practice. Your background in Design & Construct (D&C) projects and managing contractor safety during construction phases is essential.
You'll bring tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience with demonstrated safety management expertise in construction environments. You excel at translating complex safety requirements into practical solutions while engaging diverse stakeholders, contractors and construction teams.
Your strong leadership capabilities enable you to build high-performing teams and manage contractor compliance effectively. With excellent communication skills, you can influence senior executives, external agencies, and construction partners alike.
Your analytical mindset, ethical practice commitment, and ability to manage competing priorities across design, construction and operational phases will ensure successful safety outcomes across this groundbreaking program.
