Senior Manager, Warranty & Claims Resolution

The Senior Warranty Manager will blend operational warranty resolution and strategic efforts to resolve complex warranty claims and disputes, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and company objectives. This role is a people leader role and requires a professional with expertise in leading a team of experienced members, as well as warranty claim management and resolution.

Expertise in GTCC Power plants, outage management, vendor management, and ability to lead customer negotiations, with support from legal team on legal evaluation of contracts to assess warranty coverage. The individual will serve as the primary escalation point for high-value claims and will drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver timely, cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and guide warranty team members on best practices and negotiation tactics.
  • Drive alignment between internal teams (sales, engineering, legal) and external stakeholders to develop mitigations and resolutions.
  • Prepare executive-level reports and recommendations for claim resolution.
  • Support warranty claim escalation from warranty project managers for customers on major warranty claims.
  • Develop negotiation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining strong customer relationships and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage sensitive discussions involving technical, commercial, and legal aspects.
  • Oversee planning and execution of outage-related activities tied to warranty claims.
  • Coordinate with engineering, vendors, supply chain, and field service teams to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Monitor progress and escalate risks to senior leadership as needed.
  • Review and interpret contract terms, warranty provisions, and liability clauses.
  • Work with legal team for guidance on contract language to determine coverage.
  • Claim Resolution Efficiency: Average time to resolve warranty claims
  • Financial Impact: Percentage reduction in claim settlement costs vs. initial exposure.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Post-resolution customer satisfaction score.
  • Outage Management: Percentage of outages completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Zero major compliance breaches or legal disputes escalated beyond agreed resolution process.
  • Team Development: Employee engagement and competency improvement scores.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management or related field. Preferred focus in energy systems, Reliability Eng, mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in Energy industry in OEM, EPC or Generation Utility. Oil and preferred experience: customer-facing roles, warranty, contract management, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of power generation equipment & project management. Preferred skills include: PMP, Professional Engineer
  • Experience in Outage planning in field maintenance, commissioning, or power plant construction.
  • Proven track record in leading complex negotiations and resolving high-value claims.
  • Expect to perform work away from the home office involving both domestic and international travel for up to 20% of the assigned work year.
  • Maintain a valid passport and driver’s license.
