Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Global VOS Deployment Manager is a deployment-focused role within the Global Manufacturing organization, responsible for rapidly establishing and stabilizing the Vertiv Operating System in priority manufacturing sites. The role is deployed to underperforming or problematic sites, new site launches, and major capacity expansions where accelerated operational discipline is required. Working directly on site with local and regional leadership, the manager executes the Wave 12 program through hands-on implementation of foundational operating-system practices, including Tier Accountability, 5S+1 and visual management, Leader Standard Work, standard work, key performance indicator governance, structured problem solving, escalation routines, and basic Lean tools. The role establishes the operating cadence, coaches local leaders, closes critical gaps, and creates the conditions for a disciplined handover to site and regional ownership. Success is measured by speed of deployment, adherence to global standards, measurable operational stabilization, and the site's ability to sustain the system after the Wave 12 intervention

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Wave 12 Deployment & Site Intervention
  • Lead execution of the Wave 12 program at designated underperforming, new, and expansion manufacturing sites, following the global deployment methodology and defined readiness and handover gates.
  • Rapidly assess site conditions, identify critical operating-system gaps, and translate findings into a focused 12-week deployment and stabilization plan with clear milestones, ownership, and measurable outcomes.
  • Operate as an embedded Global Manufacturing resource during the intervention, providing direct hands-on implementation, coaching, and governance until the site is ready for structured handover.
  • Escalate barriers, leadership gaps, resource constraints, and systemic risks to Global Manufacturing leadership with clear recovery actions and timing.
  • Tier Accountability & Daily Management
  • Deploy and stabilize Tier Accountability from frontline through site leadership levels using global standards, standard agendas, visual boards, and escalation pathways.
  • Establish the daily management cadence required to make safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and other critical performance gaps visible and actionable.
  • Coach leaders to run effective Tier meetings focused on abnormality management, ownership, action closure, and timely escalation.
  • Audit meeting effectiveness and progressively transfer ownership to local leadership as part of the Wave 12 handover.
  • 5S+1, Visual Management & Workplace Stability
  • Deploy foundational 5S+1 and visual management standards in priority production and support areas, beginning with the highest operational risks and constraints.
  • Establish clear workplace standards, ownership, audit routines, and visual controls that support safe, repeatable, and disciplined execution.
  • Coach site teams to identify abnormalities, eliminate basic waste, and maintain standards through routine leadership follow-up.
  • Ensure improvements are practical, documented, and sustainable after the Global Manufacturing intervention ends.
  • Problem Solving, Escalation & Recovery
  • Implement structured root cause analysis and problem-solving routines for chronic or high-impact operational issues using practical Lean methodologies.
  • Create disciplined escalation pathways with clear problem ownership, due dates, countermeasures, and closure verification.
  • Drive rapid containment and corrective action while ensuring recurring problems are converted into standardized improvements.
  • Coach local teams to move from reactive firefighting to fact-based problem solving and prevention.
  • Leader Standard Work & Leadership Discipline
  • Deploy role-based Leader Standard Work for operational and functional leaders, aligned with Tier Accountability, Gemba walks, key performance indicator reviews, and escalation routines.
  • Establish practical daily and weekly leadership routines that reinforce standards, follow-up, and accountability.
  • Coach site leaders in the behaviors required to sustain the operating system after handover.
  • Verify consistent execution and close gaps before transitioning ownership to the local organization.
  • Standard Work & Basic Lean Deployment
  • Support development and deployment of standard work in critical processes to improve stability, repeatability, and performance.
  • Apply foundational Lean tools such as waste identification, Gemba, visual management, process mapping, flow improvement, Kaizen, and basic setup reduction where required by the site condition.
  • Prioritize simple, high-impact countermeasures that improve operational control before introducing more advanced tools.
  • Ensure deployed practices are documented, owned locally, and integrated into normal operating routines.
  • Performance Management & KPI Governance
  • Establish or restore key performance indicator governance aligned with global Manufacturing and Vertiv Operating System requirements.
  • Ensure data used in daily and weekly management is accurate, visible, actionable, and connected to site priorities.
  • Use performance trends to identify instability, prioritize interventions, and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Provide transparent progress reporting against Wave 12 milestones and operational stabilization targets.
  • Site Launch & Expansion Readiness
  • Support new manufacturing launches and major expansions by establishing the basic operating system before and during ramp-up.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Safety, and other functions to identify readiness gaps that could affect safe and stable execution.
  • Deploy foundational management routines early enough to support controlled start-up, capacity growth, and transition into normal operations.
  • Escalate readiness risks and drive closure before key launch or expansion milestones.
  • Handover, Sustainment & Capability Building
  • Build local capability throughout the intervention through hands-on coaching, practical training, and direct participation in daily operating routines.
  • Define and execute a structured handover plan from Global Manufacturing to site and regional ownership, including clear sustainment responsibilities and open-action closure.
  • Validate that critical Wave 12 standards are operating effectively and that local leaders can sustain them without continuous Global Manufacturing support.
  • Support the site toward Vertiv Operating System capability readiness after stabilization, while keeping the immediate Wave 12 focus on basic operational discipline and system stability.
  • Cross-Functional Execution
  • Work across Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Human Resources, and other functions to remove barriers and establish an integrated operating cadence.
  • Facilitate rapid alignment around site priorities, critical constraints, actions, and ownership during the intervention.
  • Act as a neutral global resource able to challenge local practices and reinforce global standards when site execution is not meeting expectations.
  • Global Standardization & Governance
  • Ensure all deployed Vertiv Operating System practices follow approved global standards, templates, and controlled documentation.
  • Provide feedback to the Global Manufacturing and Vertiv Operating System teams on recurring deployment gaps and opportunities to improve Wave 12 methods.
  • Prevent unnecessary local variation and establish a clear baseline that can be sustained and further matured by the site.
  • Change Leadership & Coaching
  • Operate effectively in high-pressure, ambiguous, and rapidly changing manufacturing environments where immediate intervention may be required.
  • Influence site leaders and cross-functional teams without direct authority, balancing urgency with capability building and long-term ownership.
  • Model disciplined execution, fact-based decision making, accountability, and continuous improvement behaviors.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
  • Provide concise, fact-based updates to Global Manufacturing, regional leadership, and site leadership on deployment status, risks, decisions, and
  • support required.
  • Maintain visible Wave 12 milestone tracking and ensure critical deviations are escalated quickly.
  • Document key learnings, successful countermeasures, and unresolved risks for handover and replication across the manufacturing network.
  • Support governance reviews and formal intervention gates with clear evidence of progress and sustainment readiness.
  • Mobility & Deployment Readiness
  • Maintain a high level of travel flexibility and readiness to deploy to manufacturing sites based on business priority, including extended on-site assignments when required.
  • Work effectively across regions, cultures, and manufacturing environments while maintaining consistent global standards.
  • Adapt quickly to site-specific conditions without compromising the core Vertiv Operating System deployment methodology.
  • Wave 12 Program Improvement
  • Capture lessons learned from each intervention and convert them into reusable deployment standards, checklists, coaching methods, and best practices.
  • Identify systemic patterns across problem sites, launches, and expansions and communicate them to Global Manufacturing leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement of the Wave 12 methodology based on measurable results and deployment experience.
  • Contribute to development of a scalable global response capability for manufacturing stabilization and launch support.
