Job Description

(Senior) Manager Value Management

Would you like to join an international team with high ambitions in a fast-paced environment, creating value? Then we have a challenging role focused on improving our business in Asia and Central and Eastern Europe including India (CEE&I), working as (Senior) Manager Value Management, based in Copenhagen, in the Carlsberg Group Value Management team.

Our Value Management (VM) team is a global function that builds revenue growth management capabilities, which we call VM, across the commercial organisation, above and in markets. Following the successful launch and initial roll-out of the Traditional Trade Programme, we are now scaling and embedding the programme across priority markets. We are transforming the way we do VM from focusing on tools only to being programme-driven, developing capabilities, operating model, implementing advanced solutions and driving change management. Within VM, we work with different levers (Pricing, Promotion, Assortment & Trade Terms), and with technology advancements, we experience these levers becoming more integrated, thus, we are taking a new approach to VM.

In this role, you will be heading the roll-out of our Traditional Trade Programme across markets in Asia and CEE&I. You will support the markets in the implementation of our capabilities, which takes 6-9 months per market. This means you will be working across markets as a project resource to ensure successful implementation with our partner. The role is based in Copenhagen, and relocation to Denmark is required for candidates who are not already based in Denmark.

You will be part of a fun, ambitious and dynamic international team focusing on implementing VM in Traditional Trade, mainly in Eastern Europe and Asia. As a result, you will gain a great level of exposure to different functions, markets, and stakeholders as well as solid VM knowledge (from Strategy to Execution and Embedment).

What you’ll be doing

The role is designed to implement the VM programme in Traditional Trade markets acrossAsia and CEE&I, where you will be supporting in improving the capability level by implementing more advanced solutions and updating our operating model. As part of your responsibilities, you will:

  • Deploy and then continuously improve our programmes and framework, based on the markets’ feedback and increasing level of capability.
  • Prepare next markets for implementation, ensure operating model and data availability, and afterwards implement and follow through on the implementation in the market (6-9 months).
  • Design future operating model for Traditional Trade markets, including governance structure, processes and resources.
  • As part of the programme, develop and roll out VM capabilities frameworks (such as Pack/price architecture, Promo Analytics, Pricing Scenario Modelling) to the new markets and embed them sustainably.
  • Support local teams in markets in the journey from the technical setup to the commercial action plan.
  • Codify and lead adoption of the new global standardised frameworks, taking VM capabilities to the next level, with the help of external partners.
  • Engage with IT, Insights team and external partners to drive data & analytics automation related to the programme

Engage with external vendors and bring learning to Carlsberg on best-in-class practices, tools, and ways of working.

When you are not fully immersed in the programme, as we transition to the next market, you will be:

  • Engaging the Global VM community and encouraging best practice sharing among markets.
  • Provide ad-hoc support and troubleshooting to the markets where needed (on any of the VM levers and their embedment to the commercial cycle, data, automation, and good practice sharing).
  • Help to drive and develop Foundational (Core) VM capabilities and solutions for small- to medium scale markets in CEE&I.

Implementing VM capabilities in a market takes around 6 months, divided into 2 phases of 3 months

  • Phase 1: Development of operating model and tool, which requires 2-4 market visits of 2-3 days
  • Phase 2: Operationalising the tool and driving insights with the local team, which requires high involvement, being 3-4 days a week in the market for 10-12 weeks in a row, or even up to 2 weeks in a row in remote markets such as Kazakhstan, China or South-East Asia.

Depending on the number of markets implementing the programme, you should expect up to 80 travel days annuallyTravel may involve periods of up to two consecutive weeks away from home, depending on market implementation needs. The role reports to the Value Management Director in the Group Central Office in Copenhagen.

What we’re looking for

We welcome applications from both Manager and Senior Manager candidates. The final title and level will be determined based on experience, skills, demonstrated capabilities, and growth potential.

We are especially interested in candidates who demonstrate strong potential, learning agility, curiosity, and the ability to grow into broader responsibilities. We are open to hiring strong candidates who may not yet fully meet all Senior Manager requirements but show the capability and motivation to develop into the role.

  • 5-8 years of experience in FMCG/ CPG Commercial roles, preferably in Asia or Central and Eastern Europe. Experience in Revenue Growth Management / Route to Market operations / Sales Development / Sales is an advantage.
  • Analytical mindset with proven track record.
