In this role, you'll:
Work within the Group Technology Risk & Assurance function, playing a pivotal role in uplifting risk, control and assurance maturity across Group Technology. You will operate at the intersection of assurance, risk and delivery ensuring that technology risks are understood, managed and embedded into how we design, build and operate services.
Lead and continuously improve technology assurance frameworks, tools and processes that provide clear visibility of risks, controls and remediation activity across a diverse and evolving information, operational and customer technology landscape.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, audit stakeholders and delivery teams providing independent, expert advice that supports regulatory compliance, audit readiness and the continuous improvement of risk management practices.
Lead and deliver assurance activities across internal and external audits, ensuring high-quality evidence, timely responses and effective resolution of findings.
Prepare and present executive-ready reporting and insights for governance forums, clearly communicating complex technology risk and assurance matters to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Partner across business, technology and risk teams to embed strong controls, while influencing stakeholders in a matrixed environment to drive alignment, manage competing priorities and build commitment to uplift initiatives.

About you
You are a strategic technology risk and assurance leader with deep expertise and strong influencing skills. You are motivated by building trust in technology ensuring systems are secure, compliant and resilient, and enabling better outcomes for customers and communities across NSW. You bring expertise in:
• Understanding technology assurance, risk management, and control frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ISO, ITGCs).
• Knowledge of internal and external audit practices, audit lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance in large or public sector organisations.
• Identifying technology control weaknesses, assessing risk impacts, and advising on bestpractice control design and remediation.
• Communicating complex technology risk and assurance matters to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior executives.
• Using audit and assurance management tools to track findings, controls, and remediation activities.
• Stakeholder engagement, influencing, and advisory skills, with the confidence to challenge and provide independent assurance.
• Industry-relevant certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC (desirable).
• Knowledge of relevant Australian legislation and NSW Government risk and assurance standards (e.g. privacy, DISP) is advantageous.
