In this role, you'll:
• Lead a team of experts in developing and implementing Transport’s enterprise approach to technical capability and competency assurance, including the TfNSW technical capability and technical supplier assurance frameworks.
• Focus on Transport’s engineering approach in line with the delegation of technical authority enabled by the Technically Assured Organisation (TAO) Scheme.
• Set and promote engineering management and competency standards to create an environment where technical capability and competence is assured.
• Manage industry partner, supplier, and stakeholder relationships to maximise capability, capacity and enterprise outcomes.
• Provide strategic advice on technical assurance, capability and competency frameworks, advising on and defining requirements that support long-term capability uplift across engineering and asset management disciplines.
• Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of a system that supports delivery of TAO assessment and surveillance advice to support the growing portfolio of authorised entities across the Transport sector.
• Lead Rail Safety compliance and regulatory engagement for the Prioritisation and Asset Management Branch.
• Manage and develop the team, providing direction, coaching, and performance management to achieve high-quality outcomes and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

About you
You are an experienced leader with the expertise to balance strategic, operational, and tactical priorities driving innovation while optimising costs, managing risk, and improving performance in complex, resource-conscious settings. You also demonstrate:
• In depth knowledge of contemporary transport industry standards, practice, and regulatory framework.
• Strong experience and knowledge driving innovation in industry engagement practices in a complex regulated live operating environment.
• Proven ability to lead strategic industry engagement and manage complex stakeholder relationships
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant organisational capability and competency management discipline or demonstrated relevant, equivalent professional experience.
