Senior Manager – Supply Management (Material Planning)
Industry: Semiconductor / Electronics Manufacturing
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead material planning, purchasing and inventory control. The role will ensure reliable material availability, optimise costs and support on-time production while leading a team of 8–10 people.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the supply management team, set clear objectives and drive delivery against departmental goals.
- Oversee material planning, purchasing and inventory control to meet production and business requirements.
- Review monthly forecasts and weekly demand changes, ensuring materials are planned and delivered to support customer demand.
- Supervise material planners and guide purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate MRP parameters and manage inventory against agreed targets.
- Minimise material waste, excess stock and obsolescence.
- Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve material quality issues, manage returns through the RMA process and arrange replacements or material recovery.
- Prepare monthly reports and monitor departmental KPIs.
- Evaluate supplier performance quarterly and drive improvements.
- Improve efficiency through digitisation, automation and process development.
- Coach, develop and motivate the team to meet business objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- At least 10 years of experience at managerial level.
- Experience in the semiconductor or electronics industry is essential.
- Supply management experience within semiconductor manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of material planning, purchasing, inventory control and MRP.
- Strong understanding of subcontracting business operations.
- Experience managing and leading teams of 8–10 people.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
- Proactive, results-focused approach with a strong drive to deliver.
- Experience using digitisation and automation to improve processes and efficiency.
- SAP experience is an advantage.
