Team Summary:

The Asia Pacific Strategy, Insights & Analytics (SI&A) team sits within AP Marketing and serves as a strategic advisory function. The team transforms customer, market, competitive, and business intelligence into actionable strategies that shape marketing priorities, strengthen thought leadership, improve marketing effectiveness, and accelerate commercial growth across the region.

What a Senior Manager – Strategic Insights does at Visa:

The Senior Manager, Strategic Insights serves as a strategic advisor to Visa's Marketing, Product, Commercial Solutions, and Business teams, transforming customer, market, competitive, and business intelligence into growth opportunities that drive commercial impact across Asia Pacific.

The role will have a strong focus on B2B Marketing, commercial payments, money movement, SMBs, acceptance, and emerging payment ecosystems, while also contributing to selected consumer and commerce thought leadership initiatives that strengthen Visa’s market position.

Through proprietary research, analytics, market intelligence, and strategic storytelling, the Senior Manager will develop actionable recommendations, executive narratives, and client-ready perspectives that inform go-to-market strategy, product adoption, marketing effectiveness, client engagement, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive Growth Through Insights:

  • Partner closely with Product/B2B Marketing and business teams to identify customer needs, market opportunities, adoption barriers, and growth strategies across commercial payments, money movement, SMBs, acceptance, and emerging payment ecosystems.
  • Translate these insights into sharper value propositions, segmentation, buyer journeys, messaging, sales enablement and go-to-market strategies.

Inform Marketing, Commercialization and Strategic Decision-Making:

  • Develop actionable customer, market, competitive, and cultural intelligence that informs marketing strategy, product commercialization, thought leadership, client engagement, and business planning.
  • Connect insights to measurable growth opportunities, marketing effectiveness, and commercial outcomes across Asia Pacific

Shape strategic narratives and thought leadership:

  • Develop executive presentations, thought leadership reports, client-facing perspectives, industry viewpoints, and strategic narratives.
  • Translate complex findings into commercially relevant stories across themes such as affluent consumers, travel, next-generation consumers, future commerce, and emerging societal and technology trends.

Partner Across the Enterprise:

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Commercial Solutions, Cross-Border, Communications, market teams, and global stakeholders to embed insights into planning, campaigns, customer engagement, thought leadership, and growth programs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor who drives alignment and action through insight-led recommendations.

Lead Research Excellence:

  • Lead large-scale quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method research programs from design through activation, ensuring methodological rigor, strong vendor management, high-quality deliverables, and actionable recommendations.
  • Champion best practices in insight generation, synthesis, and activation across the region.

Modernize Insight Delivery:

  • Leverage AI-enabled research tools, synthesis platforms, knowledge management solutions, and automation to improve insight quality, speed, and scale.
  • Develop scalable insight products, frameworks, and enablement assets that increase organizational impact across Asia Pacific.

Qualifications

What you will need:

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in customer, market, and business insights, combined with commercial acumen, strategic storytelling, and stakeholder influence. They should be able to translate customer and competitive intelligence into recommendations that shape product strategy, go-to-market planning, marketing effectiveness, client engagement, and business growth.

While the role is anchored in Product/B2B Marketing priorities, the successful candidate should also be able to contribute to broader thought leadership initiatives that strengthen Visa’s market positioning.

  • 12+ years of experience in insights, thought leadership, strategy, consulting, market research, marketing strategy, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting B2B Marketing priorities such as customer segmentation, buyer persona development, account-based marketing, demand generation, customer lifecycle strategy, sales enablement, or go-to-market strategy
  • Experience conducting research with businesses, merchants, SMEs, financial institutions, treasury teams, procurement leaders, finance decision-makers, or payment ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to influence product commercialization, go-to-market execution, marketing planning, and growth strategies through customer and market intelligence.
  • Proven ability to develop thought leadership, industry perspectives, and customer insights across business and consumer audiences.
  • Outstanding storytelling and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate research, analytics, and market intelligence into clear and compelling business recommendations.
  • Experience developing executive-level presentations, client-facing thought leadership, and strategic narratives.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools to accelerate research, synthesis, reporting, and knowledge management.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior executives, clients, partners, agencies, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project leadership capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex matrix environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience across Asia Pacific markets and/or relevant sectors such as payments, financial services, digital commerce, technology, travel, luxury, or consumer industries is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Market Research, or a related field; MBA or postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
