Job Description

You will be responsible for leading multiple, medium to large scale, strategic or complex development projects from inception to completion. Collaborate and coordinate with multi-disciplinary internal and external consultants, and stakeholders to achieve the required project outcomes.

The Senior Development Manager will provide support and delivery expertise in real estate developments across a broad spectrum of sectors including (but not exclusively) Industrial, Residential, Commercial Office, Retail & Hospitality. As well as Master Planning, Infrastructure, landscaping and Public Realm.

The successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end development process of assigned real estate projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards while aligning with the strategic goals of the organization. The role involves managing feasibility studies, securing approvals, coordinating design, monitoring construction, and engaging with stakeholders to maximize project value.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and managing the project Development Briefs, Timelines, Budgets and risk assessment which will define the project’s strategy and business plan.

  • Define general outlines for the project’s desired design standards and solutions to be implemented in the design process in coordination with the Design teams to ensure that the design delivery is aligned with the asset development plan.

  • Seek approvals from Director of Development to progress project on basis of initial business plan.

  • Assist in the development of business cases, feasibility studies, and financial models for all assigned real estate project opportunities (single/multiple properties or more complex projects) overseeing the process across the various stages of the project lifecycle.

  • Oversee and review the technical feasibility studies including the economic impact and the estimated required capital and operating costs for each development concept, in coordination with the relevant parties.

  • Ensure regular updates of feasibility studies and financial models as projects evolve in their development phases and communicate updated projections to concerned stakeholders as needed.

  • Monitor the design and project deliverables, program, and risk register.

  • Monitor development budgets against projected and actual costs.

  • Negotiate the Heads of Terms for sale, purchase, and lease agreements with all third-party entities in collaboration with internal sales, leasing and legal departments.

People Management Responsibilites:

  • Ensure effective coordination with Commercial, Design and Delivery on initial costs, detailed budget and schedules for feasibility updates.

  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Commercial, procurement, design, delivery, sales, marketing, finance) to align project goals.

  • Engage with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities for project execution.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including critical government agencies.

  • Assist in selection, negotiation, appointment and ongoing management of consultants and service providers.

  • Manage consultants with clear design-to-budget strategy.

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Manage, monitor, and control the development process from inception to completion to ensure timely delivery within established parameters

  • Assist Senior Management in preparing the department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget for their designated projects so that the business knows anticipated costs/revenues and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified. Potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.

Educational and Technical Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Architecture or Urban Design or equivalent. Language Skills:English (Arabic is a plus) Years of Experience:Minimum 7 years of working knowledge and understanding of real estate development processes, from acquisition to project delivery in a Real Estate Developer environment. Nature of Experience:Real estate development in UAE, preferably in Abu Dhabi.
