Within the context of a patient and family centred model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and the strategic directions of Providence Health Care (PHC), the Senior Project Manager, Strategic & Operational Projects promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff. Reporting to the Executive Director, Office of Strategy & Results or designate and working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Senior Manager, Strategic & Operational Projects is a key enabler for the execution of strategic, operational, and corporate projects, leading process improvement, and supporting other organizational priorities.The Senior Manager, Strategic & Operational Projects:
This is a Temporary Full Time position until October 2027.
Education:A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's Degree in Health or Business Administration, Leadership, Organizational Development or relevant clinical field such as Nursing plus a minimum of seven (7) years recent experience in a complex health care environment in a role that involved project and change management involving complex, multi-disciplinary projects working with a broad range of stakeholder groups. Skills and Abilities:Demonstrated knowledge of the health care system, including the operations and administration of a tertiary level teaching hospital along with general knowledge of current health care issues and trends.Demonstrated knowledge of administrative practices and reporting requirements in the public health sector.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization, understanding the essence and subtleties of the communication and the intended audience.Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Advanced skills in critical thinking, planning, project management, change management and group processes.Ability to analyze complex, multifaceted issues, report on findings and make recommendations.Ability to lead and provide oversight to projects and provide guidance and direction to staff involved in the project.Knowledge of project management principles, practices, methods, standards, tools and techniques.Ability to make formal presentations to various internal and external stakeholders.Ability to plan, organize, set and accomplish objectives and goals in a complex fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to bring together and lead diverse groups in a collaborative manner.Effective facilitation skills and the ability to motivate and influence leaders.Demonstrated ability to develop and oversee project communications strategies.Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines.Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
