In this role, you'll:
Report to the Director Application Development within our Finance, Technology & Commercial division. You will provide strategic technical leadership across customer facing digital products such as the Opal Travel App, and Live Traffic website, guiding a team of around eight software engineers to design, build and deliver secure, scalable and accessible solutions that support seamless transport experiences for customers across NSW.
You’ll set engineering direction and development standards, ensuring high quality cloud native delivery using Reapt Native and Cloud Native AWS, while overseeing end to end performance across planning, technical design, risk management and delivery assurance.
You’ll lead and develop a high performing engineering team through coaching and capability uplift, fostering strong engineering practices and a culture of continuous improvement to ensure our digital platforms remain reliable, resilient and aligned to organisational priorities.

About you
You put people at the centre of how you lead, bringing deep experience in enterprise scale software delivery and the ability to guide teams through complex digital environments.
You draw on strong knowledge of agile and DevOps practices to deliver high quality, customer focused solutions, and you’re confident working with modern architectures and cloud based platforms to build secure and resilient products.
You bring a strategic mindset to software leadership, looking ahead to uplift delivery, modernise platforms and embed best practice approaches that support long term organisational goals. You balance forward thinking architectural decisions with practical delivery needs, enabling teams to make sound technical choices that drive strong customer outcomes.
