Job Description

The Senior Manager, Software Development and Chief Architect leads software development teams while providing enterprise-wide architectural leadership. This role is responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality technology solutions, establishing architectural standards, and aligning technology strategy with business objectives.

A Day In The Life

  • Lead and develop software engineering teams, including performance management, coaching, and resource planning.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions.
  • Serve as the organization's Chief Architect, defining technology strategy, architecture standards, and governance.
  • Review and approve solution architectures to ensure scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Drive adoption of Agile, DevOps, and modern engineering practices.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Lead technology modernization initiatives and manage technical debt.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovations that support business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with security, risk, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage vendor relationships, technology investments, and development budgets.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, equivalent Engineering degree or commensurate experience (required) 
  • 10-15 years of software development experience
  • 5-10 years of management experience
  • Experience with managing a team of engineers, conducting performance reviews, and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to take products through full life cycle from concept to production and sustaining 
  • Experience with two or more Java Script frameworks is required: Angular, Bootstrap, Backbone, Knockout or Vue are preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with creating cyber safe web applications
  • Hands on experience with and solid understanding of object-oriented principles
  • 10+ years of experience with C#
  • 10+ Java Script, HTML, HTML5, CSS2, CSS3
  • Experience with delivering rich SPA based solutions
  • 10+ years of experience with MVC, Web API
  • Experience with ASP.NET Razor and Razor Pages
  • Experience with .NET Core
  • Azure and/or AWS experience
  • Experience in developing Response User Interfaces
  • Good understanding of Web Forms
  • Experience with SQL Server and database programming
  • Experience with Node.js
  • Experience with Docker (preferred)  
  • Experience with MySQL (preferred)
  • Experience with Team Foundation Services (required)  
  • Experience with Testing Frameworks and Test Automation (preferred)
  • 5+ years of Windows desktop development using .NET
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Experience with .NET for Linux/Ubuntu/Mac (preferred)
  • Experience with PHP
  • Experience with C/C++
