Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Impact Manager to develop, implement, and manage programs and initiatives that drive positive social change and align with the organization’s mission and values. This role will be responsible for identifying social needs, designing impactful programs, fostering community partnerships, measuring results, and communicating outcomes to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be passionate about social impact, possess strong project management skills, and have a proven track record of successfully implementing social programs.
Responsibilities:
• Program Development & Implementation:
- Identify key social issues that align with the organization's mission and values.
- Develop innovative and effective social impact programs to address these identified needs.
- Manage all aspects of program implementation, from planning and budgeting to execution and evaluation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful program delivery.
- Ensure programs adhere to ethical standards and comply with relevant regulations.
- Establish and maintain strong governance for social impact initiatives (clear approvals, documentation, and audit trail across grants/donations, sponsorships, and partnerships).
- Coordinate partner onboarding and ongoing monitoring (including reputational risk screening, conflict-of-interest checks, and safeguarding considerations) in collaboration with relevant internal functions.
- Develop program toolkits (implementation plans, partner reporting templates, evidence requirements, and communications guidelines) to standardize delivery across geographies/teams.
• Community Engagement Coordination & Partnerships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community-based organizations, non-profits, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at community events and meetings.
- Identify and engage potential partners for collaborative social impact initiatives.
- Foster a culture of community engagement within the organization.
- Manage grant programs (if applicable), including the application, review, and award process.
- Design and manage employee volunteering initiatives (partner identification, annual calendar, participation tracking, and impact reporting).
- Ability to independently prioritize workload in dynamic settings, balancing short-term demands with long-term strategic objectives.
- Experience supporting and contributing to strategic social priorities, including initiatives related to ESG, sustainability, community impact, or corporate social responsibility.
- Strong collaboration skills with a track record of working across cross-functional teams to advance social impact and strategic transformation agendas.
- Lead and coordinate end-to-end award submission processes, including content/submission development, stakeholder alignment, documentation collation, and timely submission, ensuring high-quality and compliant entries aligned with evaluation criteria.
- Establish a structured partnership management approach (partner scorecards, performance reviews, renewal decisions, and lessons learned).
• Social Impact Measurement & Evaluation:
- Develop metrics and indicators to measure the effectiveness of social impact programs.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to assess program outcomes and impact.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate program results to internal and external stakeholders.
- Use data and insights to inform program improvements and future strategies.
- Continuously evaluate program performance and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Build and maintain a structured impact measurement framework (inputs → outputs → outcomes), including baselines, targets, and periodic KPI dashboards.
- Ensure evidence and documentation are “assurance-ready” (standardized partner reporting, validation checks, and secure storage of supporting proof).
- Translate impact data into clear insights and narratives for leadership updates, external disclosures, and program enhancement decisions.
• Strategic Planning & Alignment:
- Contribute to the development of the organization's social impact strategy.
- Ensure social impact programs align with overall business goals and objectives.
- Research and analyze social trends and best practices to inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop annual work plans, budgets, and forecasts for social impact programs.
- Maintain a clear annual delivery roadmap for initiatives (themes, flagship programs, partnerships, volunteering), including milestones, dependencies, and resourcing needs.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to embed social KPIs into broader ESG/CSR reporting requirements where applicable.
- Support development of business cases for new initiatives, including expected outcomes, partner models, governance, and budget requirements.
• Communication Co-ordination & Advocacy Support:
- Communicate the organization's social impact work through various channels, including presentations, reports, website content, and social media.
- Develop content and messaging to raise awareness of the organization’s social impact work.
- Advocate for social change and promote the organization’s commitment to social responsibility.
- Build internal awareness for company mission and impact programs.
- Ensure communications are accurate, respectful, and compliant (consent for beneficiary stories/images, substantiated claims, and aligned approvals).
- Produce executive-ready updates (monthly/quarterly) highlighting progress, outcomes, risks, and planned mitigations.
- Coordinate impact storytelling and recognition (internal showcases, partner communications, awards submissions) to strengthen engagement and credibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Community Development, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 8 - 10+ years of experience in social impact, community development, program management, or related field.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing social impact programs.
- Strong understanding of social issues and community needs.
- Experience working with community-based organizations and non-profits.
- Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for social change and a strong commitment to ethical practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage governance and reputational risk considerations in partner-led initiatives (screening, documentation, escalation).
- Strong stakeholder management skills with cross-functional teams (e.g., ESG, HR, Compliance/Legal, Corporate Comms/Marketing, Procurement).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in grant writing and management.
- Knowledge in the area of ESG, CSR and experience in writing sustainability reports.
- Experience with social impact measurement and evaluation methodologies.
- Experience using CRM or social impact management tools.
- Experience in volunteer management.
- Experience leading award submissions, external recognitions, and evidence-based storytelling for social impact programs.
