In this role, you will:
Join the Risk Branch of the Finance & Commercial Division within Sydney Metro that partners closely with the business as well as with senior stakeholders, to drive performance, build relationships and manage our exemplary reputation.
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer and supported by a well-connected collaborative team, you will develop an effective risk environment across Sydney Metro through building awareness and understanding of key strategic, operational and project risks, promoting a risk-intelligent culture, and developing effective and efficient processes to identify, assess, manage, and monitor risks.
You will provide a high level of professional guidance to all aspects of the scope of works of the organisation and drives an integrated approach to risk management, ensuring that risk management principles are embedded across the organisation and are compliant with relevant statutory requirements. You will engage and facilitate workshops with program executives and provide assurance to the Executive that the process and escalation of issues and risks are being managed in accordance with the standards required.
This position will lead broader Risk Governance that includes reporting to the Board and Sydney Metro Executive Team (including on Risk Appetite), the continuous improvement of Sydney Metro’s Risk Management Standard, and the review of risk information in other contracts and other artefacts. This position will require a sophisticated understanding of ISO 31000 (International Standard on Risk Management), Risk Appetite, and a robust and practical understanding of quantitative risk analysis.

About you
You are a risk governance or assurance expert and ideally, you have demonstrated and extensive experience in leading Enterprise Risk Management in entities that use qualitative risk assessments (using ISO 31000), risk appetite, and qualitative risk analysis, in a within a large, complex organisation, and agile working environment.
