Job Description

  • Reports to a Director or VP level within DENSO North America Purchasing Group (NAPG) supervising procurement officers or team members, and working across functional and geographic boundaries to support global or regional operations.
  • Supports the development of long-term strategies for the Purchasing function; aligns and executes plans as approved by Purchasing top management and monitors achievement.
  • Develop and deploy sourcing strategies for MRO spend, incorporating market insights, risks, opportunities, and best practices.
  • Leads the MRO Purchasing team for development and negotiation of complex supplier agreements while considering the business needs and obtaining proper approvals.
  • Conduct cost analysis, issue RFPs/RFQs, and secure competitive pricing to maximize total value of ownership while monitoring supplier performance.
  • Maintain an understanding of industry best practices and implement continuous improvement initiatives for MRO procurement (kaizen.)
  • Manage supplier performance through KPIs and scorecards and manages supply chain risks.
  • Ensure compliance with governance requirements and adherence to procurement policies, legal frameworks, and sustainability requirements.
  • Builds strong relationships with both suppliers and internal Purchasing contacts located within North America and Globally; strong collaboration and attention to continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate resolution of difficult situations relative to purchasing activities, both within and outside of the company.
  • Prepares MRO procurement related reports and reviews the reports of others for submission to Purchasing top management and other business executives.
  • Performs Human Resources activities including tracking of time and attendance, associate counseling, scheduling, evaluating work performance and assists in skill development.
  • Fosters high morale and teamwork by supporting the activities of subordinates through daily interaction and one on one contact.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field
  • 10+ years of Related Experience
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience
  • Strategic mindset and risk management
  • Knowledge of Purchasing procedures and terms and supply chain management
  • Ability to identify and implement system/ process improvements
  • Excellent problem solving and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proven ability to prepare and lead difficult negotiations and the ability to influence others
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and good presentation skills
  • Competent level of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • People management direct and indirect reports
  • Customer service skills

    Annual Salary: $141,000 - $177,000
