Objective:

To lead the Project Controls function and multi billion dollar project with responsibilities for the following areas:
• Cost Control
• Scheduling
• Estimating
• Reporting
The role is a managerial one with full project responsibility for the performance of the team, both in the home office and on the construction site. Work with the team in the implementation and roll out of the tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on cost and schedule for the project. Services include planning cost and schedule (work breakdown structure) metrics and tools, collecting performance data (installed quantities, expended labour hours, and other progress measurements for direct hire and subcontract work), tracking data (daily cost compilation and monitoring), analysing (earned value, productivity and risk analyses), and reporting. Identifies and tracks all changes or potential changes to the project scope, ensuring estimates of cost changes and schedule impact are given visibility with the client and project management. Integrates cost and schedule data and reporting with the company’s accounting and management information systems to facilitate meeting company performance and financial goals.

Responsibilities:

Global Level Summary: Interface to the regional Operational Managers ensuring the alignment of their area with broader organizational initiatives and objectives. Able to influence outcomes within broad policies. Individuals possess an understanding of business strategies, culture and work to achieve results and are able to execute work beyond the scope of individual function. Similar situations with a time horizon of up to 1 year.

Decision Making: Ability to troubleshoot and develop tactical plans for implementing organizational goals and oversee the design of new concepts and ideas related to projects as well as functional area of expertise; Broad knowledge of functional area and ability to implement and lead organizational project change effectively; Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information and consultation with other individuals.

Supervision Received: Works with self-initiated interaction and self-initiated technical guidance. Influence over duties. Receives administrative direction based on organization policies and objectives. Work is reviewed to ensure conformity with policy and for coordination of other company departments.

Supervision Authority: Manages and directs work directly or through supervisors or professionals leading others. Makes decisions as to the selection, training, discipline and remuneration of staff. Assigns program work that involves several projects and sets policy framework for project work.

Communication: Effectively communicate and present complex proposals and reports to senior level management in both the Worley and client organisation. Ability to persuade and influence others. Participative management style with a cooperative team approach.

Requirements:
Typical Qualifications: University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Typically 15+ years relevant experience including supervisory, project management and/or technical experience.

Additional Technical Information: Reporting to the Project Director and with a large direct interface to the client organisation.

Experience in the following areas is required:

• Multi billion dollar mining project in LATAM
• EPCM/EPC
• A copper project is preferred.
• High level of client interface
• Bi Lingual (Spanish/English)
• Leading a team of 10-20 people

Systems, Processes & Tools: Advanced understanding of systems, processes and tools related to field. Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues. May be involved in the development of new systems, processes and tools.
