Boeing is seeking a Senior Manager, Production Control / Material Management to lead and manage production control and material management activities in support of manufacturing operations to support the BDS Production Control & Materials Management team in Ridley Park, PA!

This position is responsible for ensuring the effective planning, coordination, and flow of materials to meet production schedules, operational objectives, and customer commitments.

The selected candidate will provide leadership to a team responsible for inventory management, material availability, shortage resolution, production scheduling support, and cross-functional coordination across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, engineering, and program management organizations. Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers. The successful candidate will provide input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Builds a positive and inclusive team environment creating a culture of integrity, safety, quality and performance

  • Highly focused sense of urgency required, responding to all escalation issues raised by internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports.

  • Ensure daily execution of statement of work, measuring team performance against KPIs (People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost)

  • Understand inventory management and control as a key element for the business to meet targets; work with team to manage processes and accountability for inventory holdings and reduction efforts

  • Understand customer demand and develop supply strategies ensuring on time delivery and first pass quality through partnering with Supplier Management and Supplier Quality

  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports.

  • Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures, including business and technical strategies, goals and objectives

  • Understand, commit, communicate and execute the production system plan

  • Lead production control and material management functions to support execution of manufacturing plans and delivery commitments

  • Develop and implement material strategies to ensure timely availability of parts, components, and resources

  • Oversee inventory management processes, including material accuracy, cycle counts, shortages, expediting, and excess control

  • Monitor production schedules and coordinate resolution of material constraints affecting manufacturing flow

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to address supply disruptions, production risks, and schedule impacts

  • Analyze production, inventory, and supply data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement

  • Establish and track performance metrics related to schedule adherence, material availability, inventory health, and operational efficiency

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve business and functional objectives

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve material flow, reduce waste, and support lean operations

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulatory and contractual requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience in managing or leading people or teams

  • 10+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment

  • 5+ years of Materials Management or Supply Chain experience

  • 5+ years of training or experience using Lean Manufacturing principles

  • 5+ years of experience demonstrating exceptional business, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 5+ years of experience in a role that involves strategic planning and risk identification

  • Demonstrated ability to create shared vision and translate into strategy Implementation

  • Demonstrated capacity to proactively and quickly makes sense of complex issues; responds effectively to complex and ambiguous situations; communicates complicated information simply

  • Experience expediting products through a production system to meet emergent customer demand

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

pay range for a Senior Level M: $179,350.00 – $242,650.00.
