Lead the future of supply chain excellence – join us as a Sr. Manager, Procurement Global Raw Materials Transportation to lead a team of procurement professionals and building capabilities to align with evolving global transportation requirements!
Key Responsibilities May Include:
The primary role of this position is to maintain targeted customer service levels and drive out domestic and international transportation costs through utilizing industry knowledge, leveraging carrier relationships, and expanding our global presence across the CHEP regions. This role will also be responsible for managing the transportation compliance of all raw materials globally, which includes overseeing all documents related to customs, import/export requirements. They will collaborate with Raw Material Procurement Planning teams across multiple regions. This Manager will be responsible for year over year cost savings for all Transformation initiatives.
What You Will Do
Major/Key Accountabilities:
The key performance indicators for this role are driven by the line of business strategic goals and cover the following categories of performance:
Lead and develop a team of five direct reports to expand team capability beyond current state
Manage annual budget of multi-million-dollar transportation spend (spend will increase as Blue Forest continues to roll out)
Deliver targeted cost savings for Transformation initiatives for CHEP USA and CHEP Global
Formalize transportation strategy and core carrier network
Facilitate carrier on-boarding and sun-setting
Maintain relationships with carriers that meet all safety and insurance requirements
Drive team performance levels and further integrate carrier freight management through increased use of technology including reporting and systems
Develop and define key performance metrics for team, carriers and freight forwarders
Create an International Carrier Scorecard to share cross-regionally and with the carriers
Establish reporting to share with regions identifying inter-regional activity, savings, and service
Ensure all global CHEP freight movements fall within accordance of all federal and global compliance regulations (i.e. – C-TPAT, ISPM-15, INCOTERMS, etc.)
Approximately 30% travel required – domestic and international
What You Will Bring
Qualifications:
Detailed knowledge of the international transportation industry including ocean, rail, barge, drayage, FCL, LCL, and airfreight
Knowledge of standard transportation import and export procedures and US DOT requirements
Previous experience conducting global freight RFQs
Advanced experience with international transportation pricing methods and practices, customs entry processes and brokerage/clearance requirements preferred
Experience negotiating commercial terms for both master transportation agreements and ad hoc projects with freight forwarders, NVOCCs, customs brokers and steam ship lines
Fundamental understanding of CHEP Global Operations and business segments preferred
Thorough understanding of the CHEP Network pallet flows and seasonality preferred
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field preferred
5-7 years’ experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain
2+ years’ experience with leading/managing people
Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of business rules and processes
Good problem solving, organization, and time management skills
Customer service oriented and able to handle large volumes of inquiries
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), SAP R/3 and
Business Warehouse, Salesforce, Power BI

Compensation Statement:
The salary range for this position is $128,000 to $176,000 per year. Salary & hourly ranges provided take into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications, geographic differentials and other business and organizational needs. Therefore, actual amounts offered may be higher or lower than the range provided. Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be part of a total offering beyond medical & retirement benefits and may include other monetary incentives or business benefits.
