About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Contracts to provide commercial leadership on a major capital project delivered under EPCM/EPC models.

You will work closely with project leadership and the owner’s team to drive successful commercial outcomes across all phases of delivery.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Lead the development and execution of the project-wide contracting strategy (packaging, tendering, risk allocation, and governance)
  • Drive end-to-end contract formation, including RFPs, evaluations, negotiations, and award recommendations
  • Oversee contract administration and commercial controls, including variations, claims, and compliance
  • Identify and manage key commercial risks, including market constraints, escalation, and contractor performance
  • Lead claims prevention and dispute avoidance, resolving issues before escalation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing contracts and commercial team

What Success Looks Like

  • Within 30 days: You understand the project, assess the contract portfolio, and align stakeholders
  • Within 60 days: You implement an optimized contracting strategy and establish governance
  • Within 90 days: You are progressing major contract awards and delivering measurable commercial results

What You Bring

Experience

  • 15+ years in contract management on major capital projects
  • Proven leadership experience (5+ years managing teams)
  • Experience on projects >$500M (ideally $1B–$20B+)
  • Background in mining, oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of EPCM/EPC contracting models
  • Deep experience in commercial strategy, negotiation, and risk management
  • Experience in standard contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, CCDC)
  • Demonstrated success managing complex claims and contractor relationships

Leadership Profile

  • Strategic thinker who connects commercial strategy to project outcomes
  • Influences across stakeholders without formal authority
  • Makes sound decisions in complex, high-pressure environments
  • Demonstrates commercial courage and strong judgment

Why This Role

  • Work on large-scale, high-profile capital projects
  • Influence project outcomes at the executive level
  • Lead complex negotiations with Tier 1 contractors
  • Build and shape a high-performing commercial team

Apply If You Can…

Step into a $5B+ project environment and quickly assess, structure, and lead the commercial strategy, while building trust with both the owner and EPCM leadership team.
