Job Description

Transport for NSW is embarking on a bold Procurement Transformation Program. We’re establishing a dedicated, centralised Procurement branch within our Finance, Technology & Commercial Division.

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of procurement in NSW. As we implement a new operating model, you’ll be at the forefront of driving reform and innovation across all procurement functions at Transport for NSW, one of the largest procuring agencies in the country.

In this role you’ll:

  • Lead procurement capability uplift by designing and delivering practical training, online modules, toolkits and information sessions that build confidence and consistency across Transport.
  • Drive cultural and behavioural change through targeted communication and structured change‑management programs, partnering closely with our People, Communications and Workplace division.
  • Translate complex procurement policies into clear, accessible guidance that supports compliant, user‑friendly and effective procurement practice.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, uplift capability and enhance the efficiency and consistency of procurement across the enterprise.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of learning, innovation and procurement excellence.

About you

You are an experienced procurement professional with strong capability in leading transformational change, building organisational capability and guiding the successful implementation of changed procurement processes. With deep experience in large, complex environments, ideally within the public sector, you bring a solid understanding of procurement practices. Knowledge of the NSW Procurement Policy Framework is highly desirable.

You excel at translating complex requirements into practical tools, training and guidance, and have a proven ability to design and deliver learning programs, including online modules, information sessions and face‑to‑face workshops. Skilled at working with diverse audiences, you adapt your communication style to engage teams, senior leaders, technical groups and frontline staff

A confident collaborator, you work seamlessly with People and Culture teams to drive adoption, uplift culture and embed new ways of working. Most importantly, you are driven by building procurement excellence and enabling organisation‑wide uplift, ensuring reforms are understood, embraced and consistently applied.
