Job Description

In this role you’ll

  • Lead the procurement function and financial oversight and management within Prioritisation and Asset Management (PAM), providing strategic direction and expert guidance to teams across all stages of the procurement lifecycle.
  • Ensure strong procurement and financial governance, effective risk and probity management, and the delivery of value for money outcomes aligned with organisational and program objectives.
  • Providing leadership in procurement related financial oversight, including budget planning and management, expenditure monitoring, forecasting, cost control and financial performance reporting
  • Oversee the development of procurement risk and probity profiles and ensure effective implementation of probity management plans.
  • Manage tender processes and contract preparation, including tender communications, negotiation of commercial and financial terms, and timely contract awards to achieve value for money outcomes.
  • Contribute to business and financial planning, risk management and governance processes, ensuring procurement activities support fiscal discipline and program objectives.
  • Ensure enterprise procurement frameworks, financial controls and project management methodologies are consistently applied.
  • Monitor and review procurement and financial performance to identify risks, issues and emerging trends, providing insights to support informed decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Role model and actively demonstrating Transport’s values and behaviours to deliver positive outcomes for customers, people and communities.

About you

You are a strategic and commercially astute leader with strong experience in procurement and financial management within complex environments, along with capability in budget management, forecasting, expenditure control and financial reporting within program or project environment. You have led procurement functions with accountability for financial oversight and management within large, complex organisations.

You have strong knowledge of Transport for NSW procurement governance, financial management principles, contract management and risk and probity requirements. You are confident working with senior stakeholders, navigating governance and assurance requirements, and balancing compliance with practical delivery outcomes in high volume procurement contexts.
