Job Description

Lead precinct-based transport strategy and community integration – advocating for regional needs and coordinating multi-stakeholder delivery across planning, investment, and community outcomes.

Advocate for regional communities through integrated, customer-centred transport delivery.

In this role, you'll:

Provide strategic leadership ensuring regional and community needs are represented and delivered through Transport's planning, investment, and delivery programs.

Lead coordination of precinct-based strategies, governance, and partnerships advocating for connected, customer-centred, sustainable transport outcomes aligned with NSW Government strategic objectives.

Identify community needs and advocate for appropriate outcomes for Councils and communities. Drive alignment between regional, local, and state planning by influencing strategy, policy, and funding decisions across Transport and partner agencies.

Oversee Transport's engagement in high-profile regional forums including Ministerial and Government Services responses and major development proposals. Lead cross-agency and council partnerships advocating for coordinated multimodal outcomes enhancing accessibility, safety, and sustainability.

Please note this is a permanent opportunity based within the West region, with a requirement to attend a Transport office in Parkes in line with the hybrid workplace policy.

About you:

  • Complex Program Leadership – Extensive experience leading multi-stakeholder programs in transport, urban planning, or infrastructure within government or large enterprise
  • Stakeholder Influence – Demonstrated success influencing policy, investment, and delivery through effective engagement, negotiation, and collaboration
  • Transport Integration Expertise – In-depth understanding of transport integration across active, public, and road modes and relationship to land use and community outcomes
  • Strategic Leadership – Proven capability in strategic leadership, stakeholder management, and risk governance in politically sensitive, high-profile contexts
  • Communication Excellence – Strong analytical and communication skills translating community insights and technical data into strategic advice
  • Relevant Qualifications – Tertiary qualification in related discipline and/or relevant industry experience
