Job Description

Rolls Royce SMR is on a mission to deliver clean, affordable energy for all. As the leading Small Modular Reactor programme in Europe, we’re building a British solution to a global energy challenge and shaping one of the country’s most significant green export opportunities.

Now we have reached this pivotal point in our growth and development, we need to hire a Senior Manager - Plant Delivery Mobilisation to own the mobilisation and delivery readiness strategy for a defined area. Specifically this will include:

  • Programme-managing the end-to-end delivery readiness and mobilisation activities, ensuring that progress from design maturity through industrialisation and into manufacture and site delivery
  • Integrating design, manufacturing, supply chain, quality and operational readiness activities whilst managing programme schedules, dependencies, risks, constraints and opportunities
  • Leading and inspiring a team of mobilisation professionals with indirect responsibility across significant cross-functional activities

We seek an influential and resilient leader who will have had exposure in regulated or safety‑critical environments, we will really value in depth knowledge and experience of managing construction projects or programmes within a complex engineering environment. We will need your application to showcase your experience and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Industrialisation, mobilisation, delivery readiness, new product introduction, operations or major programme delivery - ideally with a construction focus
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and research industry best practice to develop artefacts
  • Co-ordinating product delivery from design maturity through manufacture and deployment, including design-for-manufacture, quality planning, supplier readiness and operational preparedness
  • Applying and improving established delivery, mobilisation and governance frameworks whilst managing schedules, dependencies, risks and readiness activities across complex programmes

Location & Ways of Working

This role can be based from our Derby, Manchester or Warrington office. Hybrid working is standard, with regular supplier travel required. Some international travel may also be required depending on supplier activity. In return we offer:

  • A salary between £75,400 and £93,200 depending on experience
  • 17% performance related bonus and a longer term incentive scheme
  • A benefits allowance of £5,000 to build a personalised package
  • Pension – 12% employer, 6% employee
  • Holidays – 28 days + public holidays (option to buy/sell up to 4 days)
  • Private Medical Insurance – BUPA
  • Life Assurance – 6× pensionable pay
  • £250 one-off home office setup payment
