The Role

As a Senior Manager, Payroll with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

Role Purpose

Worley Finance is in the midst of an exciting transformation, reimagining payroll delivery and building a revitalised, future‑ready capability within our WES shared service centre. The Senior Payroll Manager will lead this uplift within WES, providing delivery thought leadership, embedding operational excellence and cultivating trusted relationships with payroll stakeholders.

Accountable for the delivery, stability and control of multi‑country payroll operations from WES India, the Payroll Senior Manager provides senior offshore leadership to ensure services are accurate, compliant, predictable and trusted by across and the business and external stakeholders.

As the primary owner of centralised payroll execution, this role leads teams, manages vendors and acts as a key governance interface and escalation point for stakeholders. The role reports to the Senior Director Payroll Experience and Delivery.

Key Accountabilities

Payroll Delivery & Operational Excellence

  • Own end to end payroll delivery for centrally supported countries, ensuring consistent, predictable outcomes.
  • Embed consistent application of Worley standards, controls, and operating procedures.
  • Ensure payroll is delivered “the right way” – compliant, accurate, timely, and audit ready – to drive stable, repeatable payroll outcomes across multiple geographies and vendors.

Control, Risk & Assurance

  • Embed a strong payroll control and risk management environment across offshore teams, ensuring audit ready delivery.
  • Act as senior escalation for centralised payroll incidents, control breaches, and material escalations. Partner with internal teams to resolve root causes and prevent re occurrence.

Leadership

  • Serve as senior offshore payroll manager to Worley onshore and offshore stakeholders.
  • Partner with Local Payroll, Finance, People, Digital, and vendors to ensure seamless delivery of centralised payroll.
    Lead and develop high performing centralised payroll teams, building deep process knowledge and strong execution discipline.
  • Manage third party vendors responsible for payroll services, holding them to performance and compliance standards.
  • Support country migrations into the India hub and ensure post transition stabilisation.

Vendor Governance – Payroll Service Provider

  • as the senior operational lead and primary day-to-day point of contact for Worley’s payroll service provider delivering transactional payroll services from centralised locations.
  • Enforce payroll delivery to agreed scope, performance standards, KPIs and controls for the service provider’s delivered activity.
  • Lead formal service performance reviews with payroll service providers on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, in partnership with centralised and onshore stakeholders.
  • Ensure WES service provider for payroll delivery aligns with Worley global payroll standards, control frameworks, and audit requirements.
  • Review and challenge service provider root cause analysis, remediation plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Escalate and resolve material delivery, control or compliance issues, ensuring clear ownership and timely resolution.

Vendor Governance – Payroll Vendors

  • Provide senior operational leadership and primary day-to-day point of contact for vendor delivered payroll processing across centrally supported countries.
  • Lead formal service performance reviews for vendor delivered centralised payroll services, conducted on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, in partnership with centralised and onshore stakeholders.
  • Ensure payroll vendors deliver payroll processing in line with:
    • Country specific statutory requirements.
    • Worley payroll controls and approval frameworks.
    • Agreed service levels and change protocols.
  • Lead remediation of systemic issues, defects, or recurring processing failures with vendors.

Integrated Performance & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead cross-functional performance forums to ensure payroll is delivered “the right way” – compliant, accurate, timely, and audit ready, and continuously improves.
  • Ensure discussions focus on performance management, controls and compliance, cost management, service quality and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear, evidence based reporting on end-to- end centralised payroll performance to Worley stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive standardisation, automation, and efficiency across payroll operations.
  • Support country transitions into centralised delivery and stabilisation post migration.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

Experience & Capability

  • Senior payroll leader with multi country payroll experience.
  • Global Payroll Association, PayrollOrg or similar (e.g. CIPP (UK) Global Payroll Management Certificates) membership and qualifications (preferred).
  • Deep understanding of payroll controls, compliance and audit requirements.
  • Proven experience managing offshore / shared service payroll teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and operational leadership capability.
