Payments Strategy & Partnerships supports three key functions:

1. Design and execution of CBA’s payments strategy, spanning the Group’s payment priorities

2. Payments team strategic initiatives

3. Thought leadership across the group, including in relation to payments and AI

Payments Strategy sits within the Payments team. It works closely with product, digital, technology, strategy and partnerships teams across the bank – as well as the bank’s external industry representation and policy advocacy teams.

Do work that matters

Reporting into the Executive Manager Payments Strategy & Partnership, you will play a key leadership role in the team and help drive the development and management of the CBA Payments Strategy.

You will regularly lead and support engagements with executives and senior management across CBA and the broader Group.

Your responsibilities include

  • Engagements with internal stakeholders to coordinate and progress CBA’s Payments Strategy.

  • Responses to Executive Leadership and Board requests.

  • Engagements with Payments product teams to support the development of strategic product & AI capabilities.

  • Engagements with external start-ups, big-tech and specialist businesses to evaluate and progress new partnership opportunities.

  • You will adhere to the Code of Conduct The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour, actions and decisions we expect from our people.

We are interested in hearing from people who have

  • 5+ years’ experience in consulting / strategy / partnerships at a top-tier consulting firm or a similar internal corporate function ( key requirement).

  • Ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders to manage initiatives end-to-end

  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written.

  • Experience in the payments / financial services industry (desirable, but not necessary – product management experience alone is unlikely to be sufficient for this role).

  • Experience innovating with AI to drive customer and organisational outcomes.

  • University degree qualification in business, technology, law, economics or commercially related discipline.
