Aufgaben

Lead the Overall Vehicle Testing Integration team and ensure the planning, execution and delivery of vehicle-level integration testing for localized vehicle programs in China. Ensure vehicle systems, functions, quality and durability meet Mercedes-Benz standards and China customer expectations, while achieving testing and release milestones through effective cross-functional collaboration.

Description of tasks

1. Management:

• The management, motivation and development of staff using HR tools, founded on our mission statement & corporate values, and provision of purposeful internal communications in order to achieve the agreed objectives.
• Ensuring that the necessary training appropriate to the needs of individual employees and the tasks assigned to them is provided. Informing subordinated employees about the relevant provisions and instructing them to comply with the provisions. Ensuring that they are implemented properly.

1. Planning & Control:

• Plan and manage budget, headcount, testing capacity and resource allocation in line with business priorities.
• Monitor budget performance and resource utilization and implement corrective actions where required.
• Balance testing demand, project priorities and resource availability across vehicle programs.
• Establish transparent planning and reporting mechanisms and ensure efficient use of internal and external testing resources.
• Drive operational efficiency, standardization and continuous improvement within the area of responsibility.

1. Technical Delivery:

• Lead Overall Vehicle Integration Testing activities, including test strategy, test planning, test execution, issue tracking and release support.
• Lead and coordinate testing activities across Powertrain Integration, Interior/Exterior Integration, Endurance Testing, Longitudinal Dynamics and other relevant testing domains.
• Ensure vehicle systems, functions, quality and durability meet Mercedes-Benz standards and China customer expectations.
• Drive vehicle-level issue resolution and technical risk management in close collaboration with vehicle development, quality, production and relevant component departments.
• Ensure testing maturity and release readiness and support the timely achievement of relevant development and release milestones.

1. Safety and environmental protection:

• Ensure compliance with the safety and environmental protection regulations within the area of responsibility. Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.

1. Capability Development & Continuous Improvement:

• Strengthen testing methods, digital tools, data-driven evaluation and software-driven testing capabilities.
• Monitor relevant developments in vehicle technologies, testing methodologies and industry trends and transfer applicable knowledge into the organization.

Qualifikationen

Education

Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or related disciplines (e.g., Automotive Engineering, Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering).

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in vehicle testing, vehicle integration or vehicle development.
• Proven experience in leading teams and managing cross-functional vehicle programs.
• Experience in vehicle release management, issue resolution and stakeholder coordination in an international environment.

Specific knowledge

• Strong knowledge of overall vehicle integration testing, including powertrain integration, interior and exterior integration, endurance testing, longitudinal vehicle dynamics, NVH, aerodynamics and thermal management.
• Solid understanding of vehicle development and testing processes, test planning, issue management, maturity assessment and vehicle release procedures.
• Good understanding of vehicle systems, software and hardware integration, measurement and test methods.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, problem-solving and cross-functional coordination capabilities in an international working environment.
• Excellent presentation and executive communication skills, with the ability to structure complex technical topics clearly and deliver concise, decision-oriented updates to management.
• Fluent English; German is an advantage.
