Job Title: Sr. Tax Manager OR Director of Tax (Path to Partnership)

Location: San Fernando Valley, CA (Hybrid - flexible work hours)

Compensation: $145K to $175K + Bonus ( Equity Eligible)

Genesis Partners is a premier executive search firm specializing in Finance & Accounting placements. We are excited to partner with a prominent CPA/Accounting firm located in the San Fernando Valley to find a dynamic Sr Tax Manager OR Director of Tax to join their growing team.

About the Role:

As a Sr. Tax Manager OR Director of Tax, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing tax compliance, planning, and strategy for a diverse portfolio of clients. You’ll collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals to deliver high-quality services and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a seasoned tax expert with excellent client relationship skills and a passion for mentorship and leadership as well an escape from long work days/billable hour environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the preparation and review of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
• Provide expert guidance on tax planning and strategy to minimize tax liabilities and optimize client outcomes.
• Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local tax regulations to ensure compliance and provide proactive advisory services.
• Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, ensuring their professional growth and development.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored tax solutions.
• Assist with tax audits, including research and preparation of supporting documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices within the tax department.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA certification.
• 6+ years of experience in tax preparation and review, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Past or current experience working within Tax at a Mid-Size to Top 5 public accounting firm.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
