The Senior Manager of Organizational Communication leads the strategy, planning, and execution of enterprise-wide internal communications that support organizational performance, employee engagement, cultural alignment, and strategic business priorities. This role serves as a trusted advisor to marketing leadership, providing strategic counsel on organizational messaging, change communications, workforce engagement and leadership visibility.
The Senior Manager directs highly visible communication initiatives of significant complexity and organizational impact, develops communication frameworks and governance standards, and ensures communications effectively support enterprise goals. This leader drives communication effectiveness through data-informed strategies, cross-functional partnership, and talent development while fostering a connected, informed, and engaged employee experience.

  • Develops and executes enterprise-wide organizational communication strategies that align with business objectives, corporate priorities and organizational culture.
  • Leads communication planning and execution for highly visible enterprise initiatives including all urgent organizational messaging needs.
  • Partners with business leaders and key stakeholders to identify communication needs, align messaging and drive adoption of organizational priorities.
  • Establishes communication governance, frameworks, standards, and best practices that drive consistency, effectiveness and alignment across the organization.
  • Develops stakeholder engagement, communication readiness, and change communication strategies that support successful organizational initiatives and business outcomes.
  • Oversees organizational communication channels, editorial planning, communication calendars, and enterprise communication platforms to ensure effective information delivery and employee experience.
  • Directs communication measurement and analytics, leveraging data, research, feedback, and engagement metrics to evaluate effectiveness and continuously improve communication strategies.
  • Ensures all communications reflect organizational values, brand standards, accessibility requirements and regulatory expectations.
  • Collaborates with creative, digital, and technology teams to align messaging, optimize communication tools and enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Leads, develops, and mentors communication professionals while building team capabilities, succession plans, and a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Stays current on industry trends, emerging communication practices, and employee engagement strategies to strengthen organizational communications and business results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in organizational communications, corporate communications, public relations, change management communications, employee engagement, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Organizational Development or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience managing communication professionals or cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide communication strategies and highly visible organizational initiatives.

  • Expertise in strategic communications, organizational communications and change management.
  • Strong understanding of employee engagement principles, organizational effectiveness and corporate culture development.
  • Advanced strategic planning, stakeholder management and communication consulting skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, presentation and public-speaking abilities.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align communication strategies with organizational priorities.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Expertise in communication measurement, analytics and performance evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through organizational complexity, ambiguity and change.

  • Leads a significant organizational communications function supporting enterprise priorities and business objectives.
  • Directs highly visible communication initiatives with substantial organizational impact.
  • Responsible for enterprise communication effectiveness and organizational alignment strategies.
  • Operates with significant autonomy on operational matters and communication strategy execution.
  • Plays a key role in developing and adapting communication strategies to changing business conditions.
  • May manage communication budgets, vendor relationships and external communication resources.
  • Influences organizational outcomes through communication strategies supporting engagement, culture, alignment, and change adoption.
  • Strategic planning horizon generally spans 1-2 years.

  • Evaluates complex business, organizational, and cultural challenges and develops communication strategies to address them.
  • Directs resolution of complex communication issues involving multiple stakeholder groups, competing priorities, and organizational risk.

  • Uses business insights, employee feedback, and organizational data to inform strategic decisions.
