Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As a Sr. Manager, Monitoring & Testing, you will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Vancity’s Regulatory Compliance Monitoring and Testing program. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent, risk-based testing that assesses control effectiveness, identifies gaps, and drives remediation actions across the organization. You will provide leadership in challenging stakeholders, strengthening compliance maturity, and delivering actionable insights that support sound risk management. We are seeking a strategic, detail-oriented leader with deep compliance expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence across business functions.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Director, Regulatory Compliance While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Leading the design and maintenance of monitoring and testing methodologies, standards, and tools to ensure consistency and quality
  • Developing and overseeing risk-based monitoring and testing plans aligned to regulatory priorities and business risks
  • Executing and assuring quality of testing activities including scoping, sampling, and documentation standards
  • Evaluating testing results to identify control effectiveness issues, root causes, and areas for remediation or escalation
  • Providing constructive challenge to stakeholders on control gaps, remediation plans, and timelines
  • Establishing reporting and escalation processes for monitoring and testing outcomes
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance analytics, methodology, and overall program effectiveness
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation within compliance monitoring and testing practices

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, audit, or related discipline
  • Proven experience leading monitoring, testing, or audit programs within a financial institution
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and risk-based frameworks
  • Experience designing and implementing testing methodologies and control assessments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and provide effective challenge at a senior level
  • Experience leading teams and developing talent

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Professional designations such as CPA, CIA, CRCM, or similar
  • Experience with data analytics or compliance technology tools
  • Knowledge of emerging regulatory trends and industry best practices

What You’ll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $122,400 to $158,400 per annum The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
